‘One sunny Sunday afternoon in the summer of 1998’ – Free Download
 
    A first take of a ‘Guitar Improvisation’ that was recorded on a sunny afternoon, after returning home from one of my all too frequent weekend binges at the time.

    It was recorded live directly onto a ‘Tascam 4-Track Portastudio’ using my Roland MC-505 ‘Groovebox’. Unfortunately the master tape has degraded slightly over the years, but who cares really. It gives it that warm, weathered quality that only time can produce.

    I tried to revisit and rerecord this over the years but never quite managed to capture the atmosphere of this first drunken guitar noodle. Who knows where my head was at the time, but it certainly wasn’t on this planet.

  So here it is, warts and all. A musical fragment of my soul, captured in time forever on ‘One sunny Sunday afternoon in the summer of 1998’

    'Electric Hobbit' is the pseudonym of Robert King Balderstone, guitarist, composer and producer (Born: March 10, 1966 in Norfolk, England) 

    Robert started playing the guitar at 16 years old and has written and performed in the studio and on the ‘live’ circuit for numerous bands and projects. An adventurous musician, he has never chosen to limit himself to any particular style or category and he continues to experiment with many musical genres, both old and new.

    Electric Hobbit’s music is a unique blend of electronic music, combined with ‘live’ guitar and vocals. Within this field, he experiments with genres both old and new and his progressive repertoire is extensive and diverse. 

    Some of his guitar work is reminiscent of his early influences, such as Pink Floyd, Jeff Beck, BB King and Santana, while others take you on a journey into uncharted musical territory. With his unique multi-genre approach to his music, you can always be assured that it is crammed full of emotion, energy and passion.

    With a fusion of genres too numerous to mention, this is an Artist that should definitely not be missed. After all, variety is the spice of life and ‘Electric Hobbit’ sprinkles all of his energetic and emotive works with fervour and gusto.
