Kyle May, known to the music world as WOBL, found his musical calling in the dynamic and energetic world of Drum n Bass. Arawn, Welsh in its origin, is the "exalted" one. The Lord of the Underworld (or Otherworld.) He became Lord of the Damned, who oversees the souls denied paradise and whose hellhounds hunt eternally for souls of the impure. Besides this he is known to be a fair and just ruler.

This being is also known for making deals. Deals that often place one's mortal soul against material gain.

Of Myths and Fables

Arawn : Incongruent Goals (The Deli Mag Premiere)

Danann, AKA Danu, has no myths or legends associated with her in any surviving medieval Irish texts, but she has possible parallels with the Welsh literary figure Dôn, whom most modern scholars regarded as a mythological mother goddess in the medieval tales of the Mabinogion. However, Dôn's gender is never specified in the tales and was regarded as a man by some medieval Welsh antiquarians.

The closest figure in Irish texts to a "Danu" would then be Danand, daughter of Delbáeth. In the Lebor Gabála Érenn: The Book of the Taking of Ireland, it is noted the Tuatha Dé Danann get their name from the three sons of Danand: Brian, Iuchar, and Iucharba. These three are known as the "Gods of Dannan." However, Cormac's Glossary, a text that predates the Lebor Gabala Erenn, names the goddess Anu as the mother of the gods. Danu and Anu are often described as being the same figure by various sources.

What has Survived the times are the fables of the Tuatha Dé Danann, meaning "the folk of the goddess Danann." This was a group of religious peoples who worshiped the goddess Danann in the hopes of one day achieving the perfection of the gods. 

This Song mirrors the story of King Midas and his golden touch. The track is about my own experiences with OCD and insecurity it causes, coupled with my own anxiety. This is the first time I have sung on a track and I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it. I'm by no means a singer.

Danann : Make Me Perfect

Badb, known as the Battle Crow, was one of the three sisters of war; the fabled Morrigan. A menacing crone, she raised fear and confusion on the battlefield in service of the victor. Often, Badb took the form of an old woman. She is a fearsome presence on the battlefield, often causing mass confusion through prophecy and madness. Despite this, she was not evil. From time to time, she would even give a positive forecast.

Like her sisters, Babd was connected to ravens and crows. She was associated with the modern banshee, or bean sidhe, meaning fairy woman. The cries of the banshee signified an important death, much in the way that Badb’s appearance on a battlefield inspired terror and chaos. Like the crows, she was said to feed off of the men in battle. However, instead of their flesh, it was their souls.

The following is an excerpt from Gregory Wright's Mythopedia on the Badb's last prophecy:
"In prehistoric Ireland, the fearsome Fomorian and invading Tuatha dé Danann fought for control of the Emerald Isle. Throughout this struggle, there was a smaller conflict between the Children of Danu and the earlier inhabitants, the Fir Bolg, which was resolved at the First Battle of Moytura. Badb and her sisters appeared there, causing a mist to rise. They spread terror among the Fir Bolg, resulting in the Tuatha dé Danann’s victory.

Before the second battle against the Fomorians, the Dagda sought out the Morrígan on Samhain and received from them a prophecy foretelling the Tuatha dé Danann’s victory. The battle lines at the Second Battle of Moytura were drawn, and once again the Morrígan took the field on their side, causing mass confusion by screaming terrifying prophecies at the Fomorians and driving them into the sea. At the battle’s conclusion, Badb prophesied once more, predicting the success of the Tuatha dé Danann, future of Ireland, and the end of the world."

Badb : The Crows

Ogma is a god from Irish and Scottish mythology. A member of the Tuatha Dé Danann, he is often considered a deity and may be related to the Gallic god Ogmios. According to the Ogam Tract, he is the inventor of Ogham, the script in which Irish Gaelic was first written. To many, he is the scribe in which the folk history has been written in.

Ogmios is the Celtic deity of eloquence. He looked like an older version of Heracles who would use his powers of persuasion to bind men to himself. Most of the knowledge about Ogmios comes from comparisons between him and powerful deities and heroes in other ancient cultures

Ogma : The Story Of Canannáin (Ft Dónall Ó Héalaí)(Interlude)

In Irish mythology, Caer Ibormeith was the daughter of Prince Ethal Anbuail of Sid Uamuin in Connacht. In Óengus’s dream, which lasted over a year, Caer Ibormeith stood beside his bed though when he reached out for her, she would disappear. Every alternate Samhain she would turn to human form for one day, which begins at sunset, and after that, she would revert into being a swan, in which form she would remain for a year before becoming human again the following Samhain.

Óengus went in search for this girl in his dreams at the lake of the Dragon's Mouth and found 150 girls chained in pairs, his girl Caer Ibormeith, among them. Óengus was told he could marry Caer if he could identify her in her swan form. He chose correctly and with that Óengus turned himself into a swan and they flew away together, to the Brú na Bóinne/palace on the River Boyne near Slane, which was his long standing place of residence. The pair sang beautiful music as they went, that put all listeners throughout Ireland asleep for three days and nights. Caer would marry with Óengus of the Tuatha de Dannan, and, amongst other things, become foster-mother of Diarmuid.

The story of Fionnuala and the other children of Lir shares the motif of transformation into swans, as swans and the associated cranes ("grús") share Irish mythological reverence due to, especially in the latter case, being equally at home in flight, on land, and in water, which made it an especially magical creature able to transition to other worlds. Moreover, as the tall Crane stands upright when on land, it was associated with shape-shifting, back into human form.

Caer Ibormeith : Tin Phone Line (RaverRafting Premiere)

Proto-Celtic "river goddess of slaughter and carnage" and that the deity name was *Agronā. She also has been know as Ayrshire, Ayr, Ara, and Aeron. A goddess recognized by many in Britain, Scotland, Ireland, and more. Not Much is known of her.

MV Lyubov Orlova (built as Lyubovy Orlova) was a 1976 Yugoslavia-built ice-strengthened Maria Yermolova-class cruise ship, which was primarily used for Antarctic cruises. After being taken out of service in 2010, she sat in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada for two years. Decommissioning was fraught with problems and the ship eventually became a floating derelict in the North Atlantic Ocean in 2013. She is believed to have sunk.

Rumor has it, it crashed upon the shores of Ireland, releasing a plague of diseased cannibalistic rats upon the land.

Agronā: MV Lyubov Orlova

As told in the Dindsenchas, Boann created the Boyne. Though forbidden to by her husband, Nechtan, Boann approached the magical Well of Segais (also known as the Connla's Well), which was surrounded, according to the legend, by nine magic hazel-trees. Hazelnuts were known to fall into the Well, where they were eaten by the speckled salmon (who, along with hazelnuts, also embody and represent wisdom in Irish mythology). Boann challenged the power of the well by walking around it tuathal; this caused the waters to surge up violently and rush down to the sea, creating the Boyne. In this catastrophe, she was swept along in the rushing waters, and lost an arm, leg and eye, and ultimately her life, in the flood. The poem equates her with famous rivers in other countries, including the River Severn, Tiber, Jordan River, Tigris and Euphrates. Additionally, it mentions alternate names for various parts of the Boyne, including River of Segais, the Arm and Leg of Nuada's wife, the Great Silver Yoke, White Marrow of Fedlimid, the River of the White Hazel, Banna, Roof of the Ocean, Lunnand, and Torrand.

In a variant of the same story as told in the Dindsenchas, Boand tried to hide her infidelity with the Dagda by washing herself in Nechtan's well, but when she approaches it, it overcomes her, and she drowns. She named her son Oengus (meaning one wish) because her one desire was union with the Dagda.

Boann : In The Wake

In Irish mythology, Balor or Balar was a leader of the Fomorians, a group of malevolent supernatural beings. He is often described as a giant with a large eye that wreaks destruction when opened. Balor takes part in the Battle of Mag Tuired, and is primarily known from the tale in which he is killed by his grandson Lugh of the Tuatha Dé Danann. He has been interpreted as a personification of the scorching sun, and has also been likened to figures from other mythologies, such as the Welsh Ysbaddaden and Greek Cyclops.

In the ensuing battle, the second Battle of Mag Tuired, Balor kills the Tuath Dé king Nuada Airgetlám, but Balor is himself killed by his own grandson Lugh before he had a chance to use his destructive eye. Balor's eye wreaked destruction when opened, unleashing some "power of poison", but it took the strength of four warriors to lift the eyelid, by grabbing the ring (handle) attached to it. Lugh shot a sling-stone (Old Irish: cloch as a tábaill, "stone from the sling") at the eye, which came out the other side and harmed the Fomorian army. Balor's body then crushed 27 Fomorian soldiers, and his head touched the king, Indech.

Though not stated outright, the supposition is that Balor here is a "one-eyed giant". In one account of the battle, Lugh also killed a Fomorian leader named Goll (meaning "one-eyed"), who may be a duplication of Balor. The CMT says that Balor's eye gained its baleful power from exposure to the fumes from the magic potion his father's druids were brewing. O'Curry tantalizingly stated he was in possession of a manuscript with an alternate explanation on how Balor got his power, but does not elaborate due to lack of space.

According to Mythology, Jealousy was not always in Ireland. It was brought some time ago by Partholan or Batholanus. This Primeval colonizer, not long after his arrival in the island, detected his wife, the Beautiful Dealgnait, In an intrigue with one of his domestics, and, summoning them to his presence, he wreaked vengeance, not on the lady or her paramour, but on Dealgnait's favorite greyhound, which he seized and dashed to pieces on the ground. This, we are told, was the first case of jealousy that ever occurred in Ireland.

Dealgnait has come to be known as one of the Goddesses of the dead. She is not a harbinger of death but death itself. Having lived a life of hardships and cruelty from others, especially close to her. It's the very obsession Partholan or Batholanus had for her that drove her to loss. It's our very obsession with death that drives us to loss.

It's time we end our relationship with death. It's not evil, but it is simply unhealthy for us.

Dealgnait : Rough Living(Ft. Will Harken)

In Old Irish her name is Medb, Meadhbh or Meaḋḃ (and in modern Irish Maedbh or Méabh)This is generally believed to come from the Proto-Celtic *medu- ("mead") or *medua ("intoxicating"), and the meaning of her name has thus been interpreted as "mead-woman" or "she who intoxicates". This is thought to reflect her role as a sovereignty goddess. In ancient and medieval Ireland, the drinking of mead was a key part of a king's inauguration ceremony. In myth, a supernatural woman representing the sovereignty of the land chooses a king by offering him an alcoholic drink, thus bestowing sovereignty upon him. However, it is also suggested that the name comes from Proto-Celtic *medwa ("the ruler").

Funny how time seems to erase meaning in away. Much like how mead erases memory. History fades and we repeat. The winners, those in power, write the books.
