What better way to ring in the new year than with a new EP from Icelandic duo Asonat. "Rather Interesting" Features 3 new tracks plus two remixes. All just to give you a little taste of what they have coming up later in 2014.

Rafsveitin Asonat gaf út þann 7. janúar, stuttskífuna Rather Interesting. Asonat er samvinnuverkefni tveggja reynslubolta í raftónlistarsenunni. Annars vegar Jónas Þór Guðmundsson, sem hefur verið best þekktur í undirheimum raftónlistarinnar undir dulnefninu Ruxpin og hins vegar Fannar Ásgrímsson, sem er annar helmingur rafpoppsveitarinnar Plastik Joy. Á stuttskífunni njóta þeir aðstoðar frönsku söngkonunnar Oléna Simon, en hún var einnig tíður gestur á breiðskífu sveitarinnar Love in Times of Repetition sem kom út árið 2012. Bandaríska útgáfufyrirtækið n5MD sér um útgáfuna, en báðir fastir meðlimir Asonat hafa gefið út sínar síðustu sólóbreiðskífur þar.

Á stuttskífunni er að finna fimm lög, þar af tvær endurhljóðblandanir – en þær eru í höndumspænsku rafrokksveitarinnarI Am Dive og litháensku danstónlistarhetjunni Leon Somov, en hann var t.a.m. valinn „Best Baltic Act Winner“ á evrópsku MTV tónlistarhátíðinni árið 2009.

Stuttskífa þessi er forsmekkurinn af næstu breiðskífu Asonat, en hennar er að vænta byrjun sumars 2014.
