Silent Motion

For this premiere we check out a Swiss artist calling himself 'Midnight Menace' (@rolfee99djhallal) for his first self-released EP.

This Senegal-based producer is only 19 years of age yet is hitting the ground running with this first official EP release. His Soundcloud account highlights that he is flexible in his productions, making EBM, Techno, Drum & Bass and more. Though for this release, Midnight Menace focuses his attention on Electro. 

The track selected to premiere is the second track called 'Freaky' on the 3-track EP. The track is a very straight-forward structure with rushing hi-hats, pad stabs and bassline that moves with the bass drum. This release will come available on May 15th. You can pre-order now on bandcamp.

Electrix Is Tortured Records sister label and is more experimental in nature and releases a mixture of Dancefloor-friendly Electro and deeper Techno, inspired by the Electro sounds of Miami, Detroit and those deep and dubby releases by the hugely influential Basic Channel. It was famous for getting Techno producers like Cari Lekebusch, Umek, Phil Kieran and Chris McCormack on the Electro tip but also for releasing quality releases from the likes of Dynarec, Mr Velcro Fastener, Transparent Sound, Max Durante and Kieth Tucker. With future releases from RadioNasty, Carl Finlow, Sync 24 and Scape One already lined up, Electrix looks sure to pick up where it left off, blurring the lines between Techno, Electro and Electronica without being self-indulgent and losing its grip on the Dancefloor.
