Dark Science Electro - Episode 615 - 6/11/2021

Exactly one year after his 2020 release entitled Dunklewissenschaft, DVS NME returns with a collection of new tracks that were produced between late 2020 and early 2021. This 25-track album is another obvious thematic tribute, only this time he chose to pay homage to the writing of the socialist revolutionary Karl Marx. Every song title is a nod to the German philosopher's economic and political theory. Even the album cover borrows directly from Marx, re-adapting the original cover of the 1848 pamphlet entitled 'The Communist Manifesto'.

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to his studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor for the Electro community for the last 11 years. He shares his love of Electro music by posting Electro-affiliated news, art, mixes, albums, memes, concerts, tracks, gear, and more. This album is available for $15 USD.

Mika Regards has been DJ and musician since 2005. He's the co-founder of the community Strange But Dance Music from the heart of Siberia, Russia. He has had some great guest artists on his platform who have been presented on ours as well, namely JFrank, Sigma_ALgebra, ADJ, Scape One, X-Truder, Alavux, Vika Lynx, and has also been presenting some other amazing artists such as Dez Williams, Confluence, Sin:it:sin, Mike Stern, and many more.

The purpose and objective of this podcast is not only to explore all sorts of different facets of electro, but to also reveal the influence on music through the location of the artist. Mika brings with him something outrageously harsh and rebellious. If staggered rhythyms, and forceful melodies is what you’re after then you’ll love this.

'Be The Glitch' is a 140 BPM breakbeat journey that moves between soaring flute melodies, choral stabs, and a bass-driven drop. Opening with Marianne Williamson’s iconic Our Deepest Fear quote, the track frames resistance and disruption not as chaos, but as empowerment. Later, the flutes and choir return, softening the weight of the low end and carrying the track to its close; leaving listeners with both impact and reflection. In its final statement, it dares listeners to become the glitch in the system.
