For this third issue of Les Femmes s'emparent d'ELAB, we go on a trip with Lori Booster, a member of the collective @menuiserecords, from Morlaix. We met them last June to talk about their big anniversary compilation, called VITESSE. Lori had then mixed with her co-pilot M. TouNu, but tonight, she's taking the controls alone. So fasten your seatbelt, and we're off to a mix worthy of the greatest car rallies.

"I'm not the kind of person who identifies with a particular style of music. My sets are a concentrate of everything I like. In general, my sets are built in BPM increments. I start at 150/160 minimum with jumpstyle, tekstyle, hardstyle. At 160/170 it will always be frapcore. At 170/180 I love to put happy hardcore or sounds with lots of synths. And at 180/200 BPM, that's when you have to bring out the most killer sounds, and mouth kick the people listening. For this mix I went in freewheel mode, with an intro by @indecorum1989, followed by an oldschool sound by @mrtounu and a little jumpstyle by @vano00. I also play the latest releases of @aamourocean, Pierre Le Disque Jockey (@le-bulu), @knechtjong. And I couldn't make a mix without representing the Marseille-based crew @southfrapalliance (@bogoss-lacoste et @djzvonimir)"

Let's meet a new DJ from Rennes who answers to Katze's blaze, literally pussy in German. Behind the decks for the past two years, she has performed on a few stages, including the Warehouse in Nantes and the open air "Ruisseau Disco" in Dinan with the ÖND (@nouvelond), Lena (@lena-rennes) and Silteplay (@silteplay) collectives. She also did a podcast for Electronic Consortium (@user-458347342) last April. Internet users were also able to see her in stream on the Facebook group Tek in Rennes during the confinement, she played in duo with her companion Doe Grise (@doe_grise), with whom she plays regularly.

"Progressive and rhythmic techno set with a wide range of sounds: arabic (@radicalgaze or @inigovontier), dub, rave, break (DJ Headshot, @olsvanger), deep and even jazz, the whole sprinkled with vocals here and there and big bass guitar cuts (@thekech).

I don't necessarily have a reference style. I like when it swings without necessarily being fast, hence a rather large work of music selection and listening to many hours of music every day. 

I obviously have female DJs of reference (but not only!), from the most seasoned, to the least known, to those who have recently arrived on the scene: Steffi (@steffi_official), Jennifer Cardini (@jennifercardini), Perel (@perel-music), Shanti Celeste (@shanticeleste), Avalon Emerson (@avalonemerson), Clara Moto(@claramoto), Yaéji (@kraejiyaeji) and many others..."

He visits us in the studio to present his artistic project, his label's productions and his latest release. Between rap, ambient, gabber and break, everything goes in this fascinating discussion with this musician aspiring to the hybridization of club culture.

Eurrope then takes the turntables for a shamanic mix, wandering according to the moods, from experimental hip-hop to slow trance, passing through obscure musical territories that leave room for mental elevation in a mild trance.
