Iceland-born artist Arsaell Thor Ingvason AKA Intr0beatz @intr0beatz delivers the 90th episode from our mixtape series, also celebrating the EP « Irregularity », his new release on his own label Cosmic Angles @cosmicangles. The mix itself is a celebration of Arsaell’s sounds and influences, with a beautiful selection of deep cuts and twisted sample-based house jams.

Intr0beatz - Electrocorp Mixtape #90

The "Jamz" imprint from our friends @slothboogie returns this July with Soul Wun @soulwun "Fragments EP", including this beautiful remix from Jesse Bru @jesse-bru 

Australia’s Soul Wun is a young skater making beautiful sun soaked deep house jams, previously for the likes of 13th Hour, House Cookin’, Feedasoul, Clipp.art and of course SlothBoogie where he returns here following his appearance on the first "Dancing With Friends" compilation.  

Opening the release is "Piero’s Strings", merging twinkly piano lines and cinematic strings with winding bass grooves and organic drums. "Japan Theme" follows next, fusing hazy brass licks, a walking bass line and jazz keys with a swinging drum groove and spoken word Japanese samples.  

Opening the B-side of the release is "Lily Flower (Adele)", laying focus on an amalgamation of warm piano tones, a swinging rhythm and plucked bass tones throughout. "Sun Lady Statement" is up next, taking things in a more acid jazz direction via broken percussion, psychedelic guitar licks and hypnotic, poetic vocal chants. Lastly to round out the release Houseum and Axe On Wax artist Jesse Bru delivers his twist on "Lily Flower (Adele)", bringing a Deep House aesthetic to the table courtesy of shuffled drums and driving low end, while the original’s ethereal textures ebb and flow within.

Show's concept is to invite guest artists to play home listening music sharing a variety of influences, cultures, and different dichotomies with the same form of expression. The various artists releases that will follow each year, will include 6 original tracks from the 6 artists involved in the shows.

« Kulture Galerie Year 1 » includes 6 tracks from the first guests of the series: HRZL (Herzel, from Hivern Discs, Uncanny Valley), Deeprhythms, Aspetuck, Adam Stromstedt, K-Dallas under his Exo Ghost moniker and finally an original track from Metropolitan Soul Museum.

London producer Nebraska is back on Heist Recordings with some serious groovy cuts, including two collaborations with singer Bebelle and this mighty, dusty, Detroit-inspired anthem. Another tour-de-force for this brillant artist that never disappointed us since 2015, when we came accross his EP on NYC's Mister Saturday Night!

London based, Lithuanian producer Arnheim @arnheim presents "The Journey Is The Place To Be", a five-track EP of fine house music with Detroit’s Jazz & Soul influences. The release lands on Marco Celeri’s label, Roots Underground @rootsundergroundrecords and will hit stores this April 8th. 

"Open Sight on Flightways" is the opening EP track, with hypnotic rhodes loops on a 4/4 rhythm marked by sharp hi-hats and snare with a live feel, interrupted by an acid synth line that gives the track the roughness needed to be played on any type of dancefloor. A-Side continues with "Is There A Way", over 7 minutes of soulful softness featuring the guitar of Andrés Alcover (as well as the backing vocals of the track) and the beautiful voice of Vimbai Mango that really warms the hearts.

We are proudly unveiling the B1 track of the EP, with "Bird’s View" and its airy strings that follow one another insistently over the beat, interspersed with rhode keys that actually give the track greater concreteness and solidity. "The Time it Hits", on the other hand, has the peculiarity of sounding like a track that fits into the tradition of a certain MPC House for the roughness with which the rhode chords follow one another on the nervous and incessant beat, charged by beautiful jazz-style hi-hats. The solemn and syncopated atmosphere of "Singularity" makes it almost a Jazz march for the clubs and closes the B-side of this beautiful EP.

A brillant release that will surely satisfy the most demanding palate of any devoted House music lover.

William Florelle @williamflorelle is a London-born songwriter, producer and DJ currently based in Lisbon. The project aims to blur the lines between many contemporary soul-driven styles including afrobeat, jazz, R&B, and more club-focused dance music.

JW. Carew Aka William Florelle has always been fascinated by the deliberate syncopation in music. Stemming from an early love for afrobeat and growing into an appreciation for all styles that share similar cyclic qualities, he is drawn by the meditative state that is a result of the minimal. His debut EP "Two & Three" fort WotNot Music, crisscrossing between the dance floor and soulful R&B, received a high praise from the scene and media. 

His forthcoming releases "Vessel" and "Stuck" continue to explore areas where his vocals provide distant and airy songwriting on top of house and broken beat-inspired grooves forming a mishmash of organic and electronic-driven dance music.

Michele Lamacchia is back as Nu-Cleo on Chicago's Leisure Records @leisurerecords

Italian deep house producer Nu-Cleo, also known for his works under his aliases Rhythm Of Paradise, Gourment De Funk and 34th Floor Experience, offers up a selection of airy but hard hitting cuts, representing the signature Balearic deep house sound of South Italy. Essential record for deep house aficionados!

The 4-track EP, "Ti Lascerò" (I'll Leave You), including the eponymous deep acid club track, features also a dub remix by Leisure mainstays Andrew Joseph and Myles Emmons.

The latest release from Chicago's Leisure Records will be available as a 12" and digital on November 18th.

This is a true Los Angeles takeover that we have here. LA-based artist @urulu is joining forces with @thesethingstaketime a label also based out in the city of angels, founded by B. Hayes in 2016 and here releasing its 5th EP with "Urulu - Metroid". 

Through recent releases on Voyage Recordings, Kalahari Oyster Cult and Tartelet, Urulu demonstrated a complete devotion to true Electro sounds... and this is where the label and artist are crossing paths. Indeed, after a series of VAs and a couple EPs, These Things Take Time pursues its exploration of North-American electronic music with this new EP. 

"Metroid" has a beautiful deep house vibe while also sharing a lot of similarities with the Detroit legacy. Our pick up from the release is "Static Dancer", a truly high-powered track and a perfect example of that shared heritage from the US sounds. 

We've been following Urulu since... well.. the begining of his career - yeah, we're talking about his early releases on Exploited - and we are really pleased to see how his sound is shaping and the direction that he's been taking since the last few years. 

"Metroid" is a strong must-have, so go get it!

Jen Hartley aka Yushh @yushh established herself as one of Bristol’s most exciting new faces on the scene. As a local selector, she has turned her attention to the groundswell of talent the city has to offer when it comes to the cross-section of bass music with her new label project, Pressure Dome @pressuredome.

On this inaugural VA release, she proposes us a beautiful selection of artists, tied together by syncopated rhythms and broken beats, where each producer brings their own style, tempo and atmosphere. The release provides a range and depth that reflects Bristol’s musical versatility, from newcomer Syz whose contribution follows highly praised releases on Only Ruins and Brotherhood Sound System, to some of the city’s newest party starters to rise through the ranks.

All five tracks ooze individuality, yet subtly tie together with influences and sounds of a city that naturally nurtures progressive experimentalism. Pressure Dome’s offering is a fine example of burgeoning collective, with like-minded producers set on an uncompromising approach to the broken beat.

We have the pleasure to share with you the track "Always, Always, Nevr On Time" from Yushh, showcasing intricate percussion and delicate melodies that roll with energy over subby baselines.

Here's your daily dose of mediterranean breeze with the sound of Cosmic Rhythm. On this new release, the legendary dream house producer Don Carlos is joining forces with two strong acts from the current italian house scene: Cosmic Garden and Rhythm of Paradise. Together, they are Mediterranean Key Collective, and we present you the Mediterranean Mix of their new track "Il Tramonto", taken from the EP "Fragranza". Already a must-have.

A few months ago we introduced to Jen Hartley aka Yushh @yushh with the inaugural release of her label Pressure Dome. Jen established herself as one of Bristol’s most exciting new faces on the scene. As a local selector, she's turned her attention to the groundswell of artists the city has to offer. She launched Pressure Dome @pressuredome - a platform for uncovering the city's talents at the cross-section of bass music and UK-ish electronic sounds.

On this second release, the Pressure Dome crew are back in full force with something fresh out of the lab. A cold fusion of other-wordly rhythm and pulsation, a blueprint of Bristol's sonic underground and its uncharted voices of vibration. 

From chuggy dancehall rhythm and energetic breaks, to intricate, atmospheric techno, electro and grime, these fifteen broken-beat builders take us on on a journey through crafted cadence and dynamic metronomy. 

Wanting to give back to the city they live in and one that inspires so much creativity in those fortunate enough to access opportunity, all proceeds from PDCOMP001 will go to Caring in Bristol, a homeless charity providing services and shelter for those most in need.

Gurtlushh

French, Paris-based DJ and producer Aleqs Notal @aleqsnotal lands his turntablism techniques on the Electrocorp Mixtape series for this 87th episode. Member of the former parisian collective Clekclekboom, producer of EPs for the likes of Phonogramme, Sistrum Recordings, and Molly's RDV Music, it is a true honour to welcome him on the series. 

The mix features a carefully crafted selection of house cuts, starting with percussive tracks, smoothly transiting to deeper vibes on the first half. Aleqs then spices up the game with some acid-ish productions in between dreamy, deep house treasures, sailing through the international seas of house for this beautiful journey. 

Deep, percussive, with a slight touch of oldschool sonorities, Aleqs Notal goes beyond mixing, he's here to tell you a story, and offers a overview of his musical world.

Bristol-native artist Yushh @yushh and her Pressure Dome @pressuredome label are now becoming familiar faces of the Electrocorp networks. After featuring a couple productions from her, we decided to take it to the next level by inviting her on our mixtape series. So here we go, let's take a deep dive into her musical universe made of ravey electro, dubstep and all cross-sections of UK bass music, put together under the most precise way by this fine DJ. 

Through these 60 minutes, Yushh takes us into a dark journey featuring works from the most exciting producers rising from the underground UK scene, such as K-LONE, Kellen303, Jabes, or Kilig. The mix is built as a long, smooth ascent, culminating at the end with the beautiful "Random Loop From Doepfer Site" by Norwegian-Algerian artist Karima F. A trip that we are not about to forget anytime soon.

Yushh - Electrocorp Mixtape #88

The 4th LP to be released on the Bristol-based label Banoffee Pies Records @banoffee-pies comes in the form of a debut album from Freerotation's Tom Ellis, under a new live ensemble  named Soulstatejazz. 

In Welsh folk law it was said "Annwn" [an:un] - "The Otherwold", was a world of delights and beauty located on an island or beneath the earth. A place of eternal youth and good, where food and fair health remained ever abundant as the wage of death and disease fell to it's way side. Commonly identifying in Welsh mythology as an afterlife of paradise.

The release titled "Annwn", is the result of a 3-day improvisation at Malt Barn studio, in Wales, forming a 6 track album of hybrid live/electronic jazz-house. The group, who first performed at Freerotation Festival as a morning journey, soon evolved into a flowing ensemble of musicians brought together by one of the core residents at the festival. With Tom Ellis (Bass, Drums, Percussion & Production), Mark Hand (Fender Rhodes & Moog), Michiel Renger (Tenor Sax) and Dave Elson (homemade Reaktor & Ableton instruments & FX) as the main backline of the band, the LP also features artists and residents connected to Freerotation and Malt Barn studio.

Here we are presenting you the second track from the album, called "Rebels On The Way", a beautiful piece of modern jazz with Fender Rhodes notes, saxophone improvisation by musician Michiel Renger, funky guitar riffs by Chris Gibson, all led by a dynamic house rhythm.

Fresh off the back of two sold-out releases, Bristol-based label Shall Not Fade @shallnotfade continues its UK Garage adventures on its offshoot label Time Is Now. Here they return with another slab of dancefloor weapons from London based producer Holloway @holloway-95! With "Homage To Claro", the producer offers a UK Garage take on Claro Intelecto's 2003 masterpiece "Peace Of Mind".

London-based producer EJECA @ejeca goes full Electro with the powerful tune "Nation", taken from his new EP "Polar Nation", his first on the Bristol label Shall Not Fade @shallnotfade.

One of Northern Ireland’s finest exports, EJECA, joins Shall Not Fade label with an impeccable 5 tracks EP. A master of his craft, he has released on seminal labels, including Sasha’s Last Night on Earth and BPitch! Control among many others. Living by the ‘music first hype later’ mantra, Ejeca here dishses up a real nice sonic smorgasbord on this new EP. 

One of his heftier offerings, opener "BetterB" is a total slammer! Nostalgic rave breaks, trance enhanced breakdowns, discrete vocals and broken-beats to shake life into you. "Never Should" is a more
recognisable cut from the Northern Irish artist. Classy 4/4 laden with nice grooves, uplifting keys and a gently wiggling acid line; this is pure 'hands in the air' house for rose-tinted summer days. 

B-side kicks off on a frenzied start with "Polar" an electro-infused house banger, followed with machine funk "Nation", a vibey, retro electro number. This is one for the small hours to get totally lost in. 

Finally, "Real" brings the EP to an epic close. This big room vibe-machine channels old Detroit vibes, it’s impossible not to get swept up into this groove!

A well known figure of the Italian music scene, the artist has dropped music on esteemed labels such as Robsoul Recordings, OFF, International Freakshow, Hypercolour, Siler & Dima's Popcorn Records, and more. His "Milano Traxx" EP features three original house cuts, backed up by a powerful, bassline-driven remix from the label's head, Man.E.

For decades, Tijuana-based brothers Gerardo & Emanuel Cedillo have been producing astral deep odysseys, bringing together the raw sensuality of classic house and the restraint of techno, while incorporating jazzy ﬂourishes and colourful shifts in tones, rhythms and textures. 

With their Soul Of Hex @soulofhex project, they have already contributed heavily to the house and techno scene, DJing, promoting events, performing live sets and releasing surgical house cuts for labels such as Quintessentials, Secret Crunch, CVMR, Dirt Crew as well as their own Vicario imprint. 

Having previously dropped two heavyweight EPs on Freerange Records, and label boss Jimpster now  welcome the brothers on his Delusions Of Grandeur @delusionsofgrandeur imprint for an absolute banger of a release entitled "Disco Permanente EP".

From the crunchy, high energy drive of the title track with its MPC-style edits and punchy stabs, to the optimistic vibe permeating through closing track "Psychic", from the Soundhack-inspired craziness of "Drum Fantasy" to the live, octave bassline stomp of "Polygon Alpha Funk" featuring Cornelius SA, this is an EP deeply rooted in the origins of house music. Diversity, authenticity and overall quality make it a true classic that will stand the test of time.

London-based producer Alfredo Romero @alfredoromerouk, head honcho of the Tapas Wax imprint, here joins the Dansu Discs @dansudiscs family as part of the fourth volume of the label's VA series.

This 18th release from the label sees an impressive list of up and coming artists gathered on the compilation, such as Ethyene, Interplanetary Criminal, Warwick, as well as Dansu Discs returning acts Pinder and Main Phase, amongst others.  

An extremely talented producer, Alfredo Romero's knowledge spreads all across the music spectrum, from jazz to blues all the way through to electronic music where his new alias sits. ⁣With "ASMR" he offers a pure UK Garage track using samples of pianos, strange sounds, whispering voices and bleeps, making it an impressively dynamic and smart production. A genius sound, and definitely an artist to keep an eye on!

A master of his ow art, Jad & The @jad-lee delivers genres bending productions and mixes for almost 10 years, and while his usual musical blends generally aim to make you dance, this new mixtape from the Australian artist follows a different path.

In these times of self exploration and home centric activities, Jad & The offers us a mix to be listened to. The selection is introduced with several downtempo tracks, that morphes into blossoming Ambient kickless sounds. The mix then sails through synthpads-driven electronic waves, chill hazy balearic house seas, to eventually strands on the infinite shores of breakbeat.
