Having recently produced and released new material, @key-be decided that it was about time to record a new live set. “This way I’d like to share my music and enable listeners to discover my musical universe”, says the young musician. He recorded the set in his atelier in Paris - in a basement: “I spend a lot of time there because the quietness and solitude help me express my ideas musically while going deeper into the topic.” It is vitally important for him to tell a story through his sets. “It is not only about the tracks but rather some kind of contemplation throughout the whole mix, the feelings involved, cultural inspiration and a bit of my personality”, says Keybe. “The Nomad Soul” is the result of several months full of work and learning. Seine neuen Produktionen – sie waren die Inspiration, dass @key-be ein neues Liveset aufnahm. „Ich will so meine Musik teilen und sie soll entdeckt werden“, erklärt der junge Musiker, „und so können alle in mein musikalisches Universum eintauchen.“ Als er dieses Set aufzeichnete, war er in seinem Atelier im Herzen von Paris – und zwar in einem unterirdischen Keller: „Ich bringe viel Zeit an diesem Ort, weil ich es in der Stille und der Einsamkeit schaffe, meine Ideen musikalisch auszudrücken und tiefer in die Materie vorzudringen.“ Das Wichtigste ist für ihn, dass die Zusammenstellung eine Geschichte erzählt. „Es geht nicht nur um die Tracks, sondern auch um eine Reflexion im gesamten Set, das Gefühle, kulturelle Inspirationen und ein wenig von meiner Persönlichkeit vermischt“, so Keybe. „The Nomad Soul“ ist die Frucht mehrerer Arbeitsmonate, die mehrere Phasen des Lernens von Keybe zusammenfassen. One of Australia’s budding new exports, Luke Alessi, is a relative newcomer to the moodier Australian techno scene, but no stranger to creating music that moves dance floors. Luke is quickly making a name for himself with his unique melodic sound that marries the eerie darkness of underground techno with an enchanting storytelling nature. Since the projects inception in late 2018 Luke Alessi has fast become an artist to take note of, receiving praise from leading producers both locally and internationally, spurred by his remix of Lastlings ‘Déjà Vu’ that gained support from the likes of Black Coffee, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Lane 8 and Made in Paris. In 2019 Luke Alessi returned with the stunning ‘Ara’ EP on Made In Paris's imprint Upon Accessm followed by releases on Australian techno tastemakers Motorik and Ugenius Records, which included remixes from Berlin’s Animal Trainer and Sydney’s Doppel. New music saw even more demand in the clubs, with sets at Melbourne’s XE54 and Revolver, and Sydney’s Civic Underground and Good Bar alongside Serge Devant and Hoten. 2020 is setting up to be Luke’s year with releases signed to RADIANT. out of Switzerland (Sabb, Black Circle and OXIA), Oliver Kotetzki’s label a Tribe Called Kotori, California’s Desert Hearts Black and Australian labels Interfonic and All Night Records. There is no shortage of music to come. To support the onslaught of releases, Luke has been booked for debut shows in South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia, as well as taking on support duties with Eelkie Kleijn, Maya Jane Coles, Pan Pot and Made in Paris. Striving to create music that’s designed to take you somewhere else, even if just momentarily, there’s a lot in store for this young Melbourne producer. Stay tuned.
