Greek artist, DJ and label owner (Remote Influence) ITPDWIP provides the eleventh edition of the Bass Agenda Presents series.

ITPDWIP (Instant Teleportation Process Detected While In Progress) is a project dedicated to the authentic Electro sound with a retro slant; paying homage to the sounds that have formed the foundation of great sci-fi flavoured, dark Electro from the 70s to date.

The four original tracks are live takes, raw, loud, immersive and as such they are electro in its purest form. Like a good Whiskey this is potent, full of flavour, sometimes sharp, sometimes smooth and built on years of fine heritage and a honed process. And, on remix duty, Drum Machinee, a member of the Anopolis collective (Lower Parts) also based in Thessaloniki in Greece. He brings a atmosphere drenched take on 'Eto Ya'.

TFHATS and his earlier productions have been receiving regular support from Dave Clarke on his Whitenoise radio show for sometime now. Running parallel to that support TFHATS has been working hard on this EP and with a degree of attention to detail that only a real craftsman can manage.

This Dutch producer appreciates the power of punchy energetic beats and the impact soaring melodies can have,  more than that though, he knows how to put them together to make the most potent of cocktails.

On remix duty label mate Slaves of Sinus delivers an incredible high BPM acid assault version of 'I Can't Breathe' whilst Bass Agenda favourite Miotek delivers a blissful 909 dub version of 'Culture Friction'. This is serious, well composed and hard hitting modern electro at its best. Enjoy!

No lo negaremos, andamos muy cósmicos últimamente. Será porque es la única manera que hemos encontrado -sin consumir drogas, claro está- de evadirnos de este mundo, de dejar a un lado nuestros problemas, de olvidar por un momento la situación política y social en la que se encuentra nuestro querido país. Y es que esos mequetrefes que se hacen llamar políticos, que defienden una pseudo democracia y andan por el congreso de los diputados altivos, prepotentes y con una verborrea que genera repudia, nos amarga la existencia.

Dicen por ahí que somos un país de pandereta, y es cierto. Dicen que estamos abocados al suicidio colectivo, y todo indica que así será. Pero también dicen que no valemos para nada, y ahí es cuando nos cabreamos. Nos negamos rotundamente a aceptar que sólo somos buenos dando pelotazos a un balón. En este país hay gente que desborda creatividad, personas ávidas de realizar cosas distintas, de ir más allá. Os podríamos hablar de un sinfín de investigadores, escritores, diseñadores, artistas de diferentes índoles que están al nivel de cualquier profesional de otro país. Pero claro, todas estas mentes no interesan a unos gobernantes incultos que sólo quieren lucrarse, que pierden la chaveta por montar un “Eurovegas” en vez de invertir en I+D, en gente válida que ofrece un cambio, un futuro más esperanzador. Sin duda, convivir con esta realidad costará, será difícil, pero no imposible. Que no nos engañen, en este apocalíptico y a la vez ridículo país, se realizan grandes proyectos, elaborados, trabajados y con una excelente calidad.

Quizá por eso, desde que escuchamos por primera vez el EP de Synth Alien, nos hemos refugiamos en su música para paliar el dolor, el hedor que provoca esta situación. Un placebo diario que nos permite sobrevivir pese a las adversidades.

“The Stars are not for Humans” es un EP que empieza con “Saturn“, una intro, un planeta. La antesala de un nuevo porvenir. “Spiral Galaxy” nos evoca aquella época mágica de antaño que pasa por delante de nuestros ojos lenta y pausadamente. Sin conjeturas, esta pieza nos transporta con requiebro y galantería a un mundo imaginario de belleza inigualable, para que después, ese empujón que se necesita para iniciar un viaje introspectivo, nos lo ofrezca “Taurus X-1“. “Look At The Stars“, por su lado, es la continuación natural de ese viaje iniciático que nos permite combatir las múltiples situaciones hostiles en las que nos encontramos. “Messier 33” es la expresión sonora de la indignación que sentimos. No obstante, es una tema contundente, astral, que abre nuestra mente y nos inyecta fluidos llenos de esperanza. La proeza de un ser humano que muta a alienígena sintético para llegar a la perfección, está en el cierre, en la desazón que provoca “Star Gate” tras la escucha y su inminente fin.

Esta belleza que surge del inframundo, ha sido editada en vinilo de color (200 copias) por Interstellar Tracks, un sello que acaba de empezar y que nace para ofrecer alternativas revitalizantes contra la desidia humana. El colofón final lo pone el cuidadoso diseño realizado por Anitta Rivera (Plástica), donde convierte este pieza en una obra digna de ser expuesta en un lugar donde todos podamos disfrutar de ella.

Gli spagnoli sanno giocare bene a calcio, e su questo non ci piove, ma sanno comporre altrettanto bene la musica Electro, ed anche questa non è certamente una novità. Tanti quelli che hanno fornito prove eccellenti negli ultimi anni, Sbles3plex, Eleztrik Body, Sace 2, Downrocks, Robert Calvin, Vagon Brei, Svreca, Alek Stark, Dark Vektor, Robert Cosmic, Boris Divider giusto per citarne alcuni.
Alla lista va ora doverosamente aggiunto Alberto Sanmartín alias Synth Alien, amante dei suoni analogici e della loro intramontabile pasta timbrica, non certo un novellino della discografia (diversi gli EP pubblicati dal 2010 sulla bresciana Le Galassie Di Seyfert) ma adesso pronto e maturo per la consacrazione. Il 12″ sulla Interstellar Tracks vede il trionfo dei bassi arpeggiati e delle melodie: aprendo le porte con l’intro “Saturn”, l’artista fa accomodare l’ascoltatore in un ambiente sobrio, illuminato quel che basta per scrutare i pulsanti e le manopole con cui dà forma alla sua musica. “Spiral Galaxy” è Electro Space Disco, diretta, senza troppi fronzoli, in stile Viewlexx, “Taurus X-1″ riporta alle alchimie che fecero conoscere il citato Alek Stark una decina di anni addietro (in riferimento all’album su Disko B e a vari cimeli su Star Whores Records): i ritmi diventano griglie su cui  scorrono bassi meccanici e melodie dense. Con “Look At The Stars” sottolinea più marcatamente quella linea sci-fi che attraversa l’intero disco, con citazioni più o meno chiare di Legowelt e Bangkok Impact. Poi ci si cala nelle misure spezzate di “Messier 33″, in cui è l’arpeggiatore a svolgere ruolo di protagonista quasi indiscusso, catturando melodie trasognate. Sul finale arriva “Star Gate”, che ci rimanda all’ascolto di vecchie cose di I-f (avete presente “Playstation #2″ o “Disco Slique”?), seppur qui ci si ritrovi ad aver a che fare con strutture meno scheletriche e melodicamente più elaborate.
