Moscow’s label @system108 presents the latest split release by @dannydaze and @anthony-rother. The 'Binary' EP is inspired by and dedicated to Moscow and its rich and distinctive atmosphere.

One side of the record consists of a raw-sounding and dancefloor-oriented techno track 'Moscow' by Danny Daze. With a slight correspondence to the Dutch sound, the track also has a soulful synthesizer touch to it. During the process, Danny made vocal recordings of his Russian-speaking friends over the phone and embedded these recordings into the work sequence.

Leng Records has long admired Andrew Meecham’s work as The Emperor Machine. Last year, Meecham made his first appearance on the label via a fine remix of Harks & Mudd favourite ‘Susta’. 12 months on, Meecham returns to Leng with his first Emperor Machine outing of 2021, a typically eccentric, heavily electronic dancefloor outing featuring the seductive vocals of rising star Séverine Mouletin.

Meecham is one of British dance music’s most experienced and lauded producers, with a packed history stretching right back to the acid house era. He first rose to fame as part of Bizarre Inc and Chicken Lips (both alongside long-term studio partner Dean Meredith), but over the last two decades has devoted far more time to solo work as The Emperor Machine. In the process, he’s developed a sparse, hypnotic, heavily electronic trademark sound that combines analogue and modular synthesizer sounds with nods to post-punk disco, new wave, trippy proto-house and the mind-altering experiments of the Radiophonic Workshop.

‘Dance Par Amour’, his first solo single on Leng, is typical of his now familiar personal sonic style, with echoing, alien-sounding synthesizer motifs (some reminiscent of those that marked out Chicken Lips’ club classic ‘He Not In’), with bubbly sequenced bass, unfussy machine drums, rubbery slap-bass riffs and flashes of post-punk disco guitars.

Sparse but weighty and pleasingly trippy, the EP-leading ‘Extended Vocal Mix’ is classic Emperor Machine: a near ten-minute workout in which Mouletin’s tender but confident vocals rise above Meecham’s stylish and note perfect backing track, which sits somewhere between early ‘80s ‘no wave’ New York disco, lo-fi European synth-pop and the trippy late night dancefloor dubs that were once a feature of American boogie and proto-house records.

Meecham further explores his love of these sparse, effects-laden “synth-dubs” on the accompanying ‘Erotique Dub’, a thrillingly heavy, heads-down affair awash with echoing vocal snippets, hypnotic drums and synthesizer flourishes that attractively echo across the sound space. Like the best DJ-focused dubs of the early 1980s, the remix is propelled forwards by a strong bassline, around which other elements – guitar, bass guitar, sparkling synth sounds and mind-mangling electronics – appear, make their mark and then drift off into the ether. With key passages of Mouletin’s vocal appearing periodically to encourage people to dance, it’s the kind of delightfully wayward revision that will keep people dancing well into the early hours.

New premiere: Stahler @st-ahler aims to spread joy through creating lofty and floating dark disco & indie dance sounds. His melodic indie dance sets are appreciated for their danceable, yet wobbly and deep sounds infused with tasteful influences from the lively 80s, banging Italo Disco and solid Dark Disco tunes, covering wide electronic frequency terrains. Since 2018, Sascha is producing music under his artist name Stahler and released various tracks until today ranging from deep house to indie dance.

Moving from Singapore to Berlin in 2014 Stahler discovered the decks during a night of escalation and synth ecstasy. Shortly after he began playing DJ sets at intimate events & house parties before he started to perform at bigger parties and events, ranging from art exhibitions to clubs and festivals.

Here is his new single is coming with a banging remix by Athens producer Kay-Chi, who just released a fantastic remix for Italo Brutalo and a EP on Epicure, before that he released tracks and EPs on Bungalow Disco, Rare Wiri and the like.

Born in Mexico, now living in France, Leonor is a well received producer with a remarkable impact in the electronic scene releasing in labels such Feines Tier, My Favorite Robot to name a few.
He lands on Polaris with a beautiful Ep plenty of matisses, featuring a collaboration with the  French producer 'Iba Boo'.

The Ep kicks off with shimmering energy with the track ‘Yo Soy'. The Mexican artist sets the scene with a sprawling, spacey trip. With deep chugging and undulating guitars, it's a swampy, intense road trip... with no way home.

We continue with the track 'Cold', a magnificent piece in collaboration with the talented 'Iba Boo' where the chords of his Telecaster blend with the vocals where good vibrations and positive energy are omnipresent.

For the remix, French duo Damon Jee & Darlyn Vlys join forces to reinterpret their version of "Yo Soy", a poignant version destined to hit the dancefloor.

At the request of the CNC (French National Cinema Center), Maxime Dangles has realized for a date series across France a cine-concert on the rare and innovative silent film of 1913 "Le Roman de Carpentier" tribute to the first French boxing world champion. The result, coming soon on the label In Between, is a twelve-track journey ranging from Ambient and Electronica to IDM and Melodic Techno, exploring the story from all angles and feelings.

A sound narrative of great finesse, affirming the richness of Maxime Dangles' production work and his ability to draw singular landscapes from which strong emotions emerge, following in the footsteps of Hans Zimmer, Trent Reznor, and Atticus Ross' original soundtracks, while exploring the most experimental side of club music.

Premiered here, “Rebellion” is the second single of the album and undoubtedly one for the dance floor. A trippy and mesmerizing experience featuring a beautiful crescendo triggered by synth leads and arpeggios whose combination delivers an entrancing and ecstatic atmosphere.

Evolving vision

We are happy to announce the debut EP Portuguese-Italian Vhyce. After his track „Back To Where I Never Was“ on a well received Lost Tapes Vol. 4, he is no stranger to the AEON camp anymore. Known from his releases on Catz N’ Dogz „Pets Recordings“, the young producer delivers a stunning 4 track EP with the title „These Words“.

Vhyce has a very characteristic sound design, which makes his simple and almost minimalistic, but catchy tunes so special; Though always trying to add something new to his repertoire. Like on the title track „These Words“ it was one of the first few attempts for him to sing some vocals on his own instrumentals. „While not being good at singing, I think it really set you free to be able to express your ideas yourself without relying on someone else understanding of your vision,“ he claims.

The track is built around an arpeggiated bass line oscillating between two sequences thats progressively build tension without being too obvious. The lyrics „These words have no meaning“ fell mysterious and open to interpretation. 
 
On the remix duty there’s no one less but „Chicken Lips“ legend Andrew, better known as The Emperor Machine. He stripped back the original to a more funky & grooving rework.  “The plan was to create something that keeps the same emotion as the original mix but still feels different enough without changing direction too much & I think I managed to achieve that”, Andrew says. And yes, what a musical masterpiece he delivered!

„Strive for Ego“ is an attempt to fuse „Can“ & „Neu!“ Krautrock influences into a club track“, says Vicente. Constantly driving forward, with perfect temper and timing to rise tension and built up energy Track title refers to the lyrics... „I’m nobody“.

„Old You“ has a more traditional Italo Disco feel. The „happy“ sounding bass line is counterbalanced with rough and psychedelic analog leads, reminding of traveling through time and space in a 80‘s Sci-Fi movie. The vocoded lyrics shall „refer to an hate-love relationship with your old you....Maybe because it „holds you“, Vhyce describes.
