Mit ihrem Fabmobil, einem Doppeldeckerbus, der austgestattet mit allerlei Digitaltechnik fahrendes Kunst-, Kultur- und Zukunfstlabor ist, bringen Christian, Sebastian und ihr Team darüber hinaus digitale Kultur an Schulen in den ländlichen Raum. End of Year Special: The Best and Worst of 2024

Unser erster Gast ist die Techno-Legende DJ Hell. Seit über 40 Jahren ist er am Nachtleben beteiligt und aus der internationalen Musik- und Techno-Szene nicht mehr wegzudenken. Begonnen hat Hell seine Karriere in seiner Heimat Altenmark als Punk- und New Wave-DJ, bevor er zur elektronischen Musik gefunden hat.

Dabei spielte, wie er im Podcast erzählt, auch sein Umzug in die Techno-Metropole Berlin eine wichtige Rolle. Anfang der 90er Jahre arbeitet Hell als Resident in Berlins bekanntesten Techno Clubs Tresor und Watergate und gründet sein renommiertes Plattenlabel International Deejay Gigolos. Außerdem produziert er Musik für Modenschauen und ist einer der Ersten, der elektronische Musik, nicht immer frei von Kritik, erfolgreich mit Mode und Kunst verbindet.

Im Interview mit Gesine Kühne spricht DJ Hell über seine Erlebnisse in 40 Jahren Nachtleben. Er erzählt von ersten Discotagen auf dem Land, wie es gerochen hat, wie damals gefeiert wurde und welche Rolle Sonnenstudios dabei gespielt haben.

Erneut kreuzen sich die Wege von Modeselektor und Telekom Electronic Beats – Gernot und Szary aka Modeselektor veröffentlichen am 22. Februar 2019 endlich ihr lang ersehntes Album “Who Else”, über das sie im Telekom Electronic Beats Podcast mit Host Gesine Kühne sprechen. Sie erzählen, wodurch sie inspiriert werden, welchen Anspruch sie an sich und ihre Musik haben und vom Wunsch, andere Menschen zu überraschen. Außerdem schildern die beiden, wie sie durch DJs – allen voran Ellen Allien – inspiriert wurden und wie wichtig es ist, voneinander zu lernen.

Modeselektor – Who Else

In der neuen Folge des Telekom Electronic Beats Podcasts spricht Gesine Kühne mit Vincent Neumann. Der Psychotherapeut und DJ beschreibt, inwiefern ihm seine persönliche Erfahrung aus dem Nachtleben dabei hilft, zu suchtkranken Patienten einen guten Zugang zu finden. Im vertrauten Gespräch erläutert Neumann, wie sich das Club-Erlebnis durch Konsum, ob Drogen oder auch Medien, verändert und welche Exzessspiralen und Kontrollverluste er bisher erlebt hat. Zudem leistet er Aufklärungsarbeit im Umgang mit Club-Drogen und gibt Tipps zum Verhalten bei Notfällen. Das Auflegen ist für den Künstler, der selbst z.B. bei seinen zehnstündigen Closing-Sets im Berghain keine Drogen nimmt, Ruhepol und Ausgleich zu seiner Therapie-Arbeit.

Vincent Neumann – Exzess

In der neuen Folge des Telekom Electronic Beats Podcasts spricht Gesine Kühne mit dem Techno- und Electronica-Produzenten Christian Löffler über seinen persönlichen Kunst Begriff. Als Gegenstück zum Nachtleben sucht der Musiker und Autodidakt die Ruhe in der Natur, um sich inspirieren zu lassen. Persönlich meidet er in seiner Freizeit viele Clubs und Großstädte. Löffler spricht vom vielen Touren und den Reaktionen des Publikums auf seine Musik. Er berichtet von unvergesslichen Auftritten und,  ob es eines Tages auch Filmmusik von ihm geben wird oder ob er sich eine Karriere an der Universität vorstellen kann.

Er teilt seine Erfahrungen aus mehr als 30 Jahren Clubkultur und erzählt vom Wunsch, das Zusammenspiel mit der Crowd kontinuierlich um neue Innovationen zu bereichern. Hawtin blickt darauf zurück, wie er als schüchterner Junge in der Detroiter Musikszene der 80er Jahre Fuß fassen konnte und zum Techno-Weltstar aufstieg. Weiterhin gibt der Tech-Visionär erste Einblicke in seine neue App CLOSER, die er gemeinsam mit Telekom Electronic Beats entwickelt hat. Chilly Gonzales – Zwischen Entertainment und Provokation

In the current episode of the Telekom Electronic Beats Podcast host Jakob Thoene talks to DJ and producer Rampa, who is known to many people through his label Keinemusik. In the podcast interview, the Berlin-based musician, who due to Corona has just had to cancel his Asian tour, tells why it has been important since the label was founded that all the friends involved were able to put their own egos aside in the interest of the community, what challenges the crew has to overcome and how they support each other. He emphasizes on how they all profit from working together, how they inspire each other and how the idea for his gear brand TEILE, which he also founded with two friends, was born. In the interview, he also speaks about the dark sides of his job, the countless appointments and the international travels. Because of all this, Rampa suffered from exhaustion and has been DJing less often. Currently he plays a maximum of 42 shows a year and tries to take better care of his health. In this podcast episode, Rampa reveals how he likes to spend his time at home, what boredom evokes and how he deals with the current situation regarding Corona and social distancing.

In der aktuellen Folge des Telekom Electronic Beats Podcasts spricht Host Gesine Kühne mit dem 39-jährigen deutschen High-Tech-Minimal DJ und Musikproduzent Boris Brejcha. Als Sechsjähriger war Brejcha Zuschauer bei dem Flugtagunglück von Ramstein und erlitt dabei schwere Verletzungen im Gesicht. Er trug eine medizinische Maske, weswegen er von seinen Mitschüler*innen gehänselt wurde. Bis heute erinnern die Narben an das Unglück. Als Kind zieht er sich zurück, geht auch als Teenager selten aus und findet Zuflucht in der Musik. Er widmet sich dem Schlagzeug und Keyboard spielen, beginnt elektronische Musik zu produzieren und träumt von einer Karriere als Musiker. 2006 verschickt er sein erstes Demotape an ein Berliner Label, das ihm kurze Zeit später seinen allerersten DJ-Auftritt in Brasilien verschafft. Seine international gefeierte DJ-Karriere nimmt seitdem erfolgreich ihren Lauf. Heute betreibt er sein eigenes Label FCKNG SERIOUS, legt auf Festivals und in den größten Clubs der Welt auf. Im Gespräch mit Gesine beschreibt der Musiker seine Kindheit, spricht von seiner Traumabewältigung und erklärt, wieso er bei Auftritten die venezianische Maske trägt. In dieser Folge des Telekom Electronic Beats Podcasts spricht Jakob Thoene mit @ellen-allien. Die DJ, Produzentin, Chefin ihrer Labels BPitch und UFO Inc. und gebürtige Berlinerin hat die aufblühende Technoszene ihrer Heimatstadt von Anfang an miterlebt. Die „Queen of Berlin“ spielte eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Verwandlung des zunächst lokalen Phänomens der Technokultur in eine international gefeierte Bewegung. Nach ihrem Schulabschluss Ende der ‘80er zieht sie zunächst nach London, um als Kindermädchen zu arbeiten und ihre Englischkenntnisse aufzubessern. Dort genießt sie die grenzenlose Freiheit des Londoner Nachtlebens, in Soho hört sie zum ersten Mal Acid House und verliebt sich in den Knall der Bassdrum auf der Tanzfläche. Ein Jahr später kehrt sie mit neuen Platten nach Berlin zurück, und findet einen Job als Barkeeperin im Fischlabor. Die Schöneberger Kneipe des späteren Tresor Gründer Dimitri Hegemann ist neben dem Ufo Club einer der ersten Orte Berlins, in dem Techno aufgelegt wird. 

Im Podcast spricht Ellen Allien über ihre ersten Erfahrungen als DJ in Clubs wie dem Tresor (Globus), E-Werk und dem Bunker, ein legendärer Ort, den sie im Januar 2021 im Rahmen der „United We Stream“ Initiative wieder bespielen durfte. Das Gebäude, das inzwischen die Boros Collection beherbergt, war zunächst ein Nazi-Bunker, lag während der DDR-Zeit in Ost-Berlin und wurde nach dem Mauerfall in den frühen ‘90er Jahren zum Club, in dem unter anderem die ersten Snax-Partys stattfanden. Anders als manche ihrer DJ-Kollegen, die Techno in den ‘90er Jahren erlebt haben, blickt Ellen Allien dennoch nicht allzu nostalgisch auf diese Zeit zurück, denn wie sie im Podcast verrät, hat sie damals nicht nur „Friede, Freude, Eierkuchen“ erlebt, sondern auch Sexismus und Rivalitäten zwischen DJs. Heute, sagt Ellen Allien, sei die Szene viel internationaler und die Beteiligung verschiedenster Akteure in der elektronischen Musikwelt stimmt sie optimistisch.
