In his beginning as a DJ, his musical interest led him to discover different genres, from the darkest and most underground side of techno to the deepest and most lively sounds of progressive house. He was influenced by artists like Deadmau5, Hot Since 82, JP Enfant, Guy J and more.
Currently his sets are decided for the most melodic and progressive side, coming to tell his own story in the form of a musical journey.

Born and raised in Burgos in Spain, Yamil has been delivering high-quality house for the last couple of years on connected, Sol Selectas and MoBlack. He tells real stories with his tunes and has played all over the world as well as topping digital charts. Clemente is a fellow Spaniard who brings classic references, a touch of the exotic and world music cultures to his contemporary house and techno. He started this tune before sending it to Yamil before hitting the studio with Lewis who sang lyrics the pair had already written.
The gorgeous 'Thousand Miles' is a tune that brings to mind warm summer dancing, surrounded by happy smiling people, lost in the moment. The deep drums roll smoothly and the spiritual synths lock you into a state of hypnosis while the vocals bring intimacy and soul. It's awash with original melodies and well-crafted percussive layers.
This is an intensely emotional cut that lodges deep in the memory.

Bio:

From his early childhood in Podgorica, Montenegro, Ognjen was fascinated by music. He enjoyed its energy and beauty and it was that which made him decide to follow a career in electronic music. 
He quickly realised that he had to absorb as many different genres of music as possible and became obsessed with bands like Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Joy Division, The Doors, The Cure, Phil Collins, Sting, Simply Red, Depeche Mode, Stone Roses, Pet Shop Boys, Kraftwerk, Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield to name but a few.

By the beginning of the 90s, as grunge rock took over as the popular contemporary sound, AudioStorm turned his attention towards the pioneering electronic bands of the burgeoning underground dance scene and in particular the music that was coming from Goa, India. Psy Trance as it became known was for AudioStorm a diverse, forward thinking, adventurous mix of eastern and western cultures and new and older sounds. A melting pot of possibilities. 
It was listening to this music which inspired him to begin to explore more progressive sounds of DJs Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Circulation, Deep Dish, Silicone Soul, Darren Emerson, John Digweed, Sasha, Pete Tong, Danny Howells, Satoshie Tomii, Sander Kleinenberg, Dave Seaman, Sven Vath, Swayzak, The Timewriter, Terry Lee Brown Jr, Terry Francis, Anthony Pappa and many other artists.

Depth Perception Sessions #71 - AudioStorm

Swiss producer Sandhog has recently released two deep and captivating tracks that showcase his rising star in the electronic music scene. Both tracks are signed to Berlin-based record label, Exploited, which has become well-known for its roster of talented artists who specialize in house and techno music.

The first track, "Accent," features a bouncing, twanging bass pulse that is soon accompanied by dramatic '80s synth-pop blasts and a plucked riff that hammers away while drenched in a spacious reverb. The full melody then unfurls, with the bassline and riff chromatically descending in unison. The spine-tingling riffs are further enhanced by subtle automation, while a distorted, bleeping lead cuts through the soundscape dramatically, and a spoken vocal adds more color. The breakdown features a dark texture with a buzzing, detuned vibe that creates a ship-tooting-its-way-into-harbor effect. The track is brilliantly produced, making it a perfect fit for big rooms.

The second track, "Nechama," rewards patient listeners with its wiggling bassline and gently swaying percussive rhythms cut through with filtered, distant synth swells that tease out the chord progression. A bluesy harmonica lick appears out of nowhere, providing an organic counterweight to the synthetic tension as the percussion builds. Then, a throat singer enters with a mystical vibe, creating a droning modulation that resembles a human didgeridoo. Despite being monotone, the sound evolves constantly, making it a fascinating contrast to the delightful, playful synth hook that rises from the depths and could easily be from a classic Depeche Mode or The Cure record.

Exploited records have been instrumental in shaping the sound of modern electronic music, with their roster of artists including Adana Twins, Claptone, and Doctor Dru. With Sandhog's recent release, the label's reputation for quality and innovation is sure to continue to soar.

Mindbox is a dj from Netherlands. He goes a long way back. The now 38 year old dj started dj’ing at the age of 17. His style is known for a nice blend between melodic techno and a little hint of Afro house.

Behind the decks he mercilessly immerse his audience in a bath filled with sticky afro house and melodious techno. Heavy bass lines, synths and trippy vocals blend together and create an atmosphere ranging from serious enjoyment to total bliss.

In the last couple of years he has become a convincing act that never fails to get the crowd going. He performed in club Poema, Klein Berlijn and Sir Jack, and created a dazzling show at festivals like House of Justice, Nachtbrakers and Halfpercenters.

Lima Limon is a twenty two year old DJ based in Bremen, Germany, who found his fervour for mixing music in late 2020.

His passion for the world of Techno began with his first raves in 2020 and has since then transformed into a deep and energetic passion for producing his own mixes by buying his first equipment the same year.
Through the Pandemic he started to refine his set of skills and slowly started to shift from a more general approach to genres to his now dominant and outstanding style of dark and melodic Tribal Techno.

In the summer of 2022 Lima Limon started to play his first gigs on several outdoors and has since then been able to perform at venues such as TAU and Spedition.
