Jensen's History Channel Mix

Irakli and Vili formed a duo because their music taste is very similar yet various. Together they build bridges from oldschool to modern by raw energy, ooze, emotion and skill. They are willing to go deep in the depths of electro and cyberpunk while forming an exquisite bond to the roots of our culture. Their sets are vey dynamic, as well as diverse at the same time. Changing shapes and colors in an instant. They might transition from electro to a 145bpm UK jungle and breaks goodness without even blinking an eye. You just never know what to expect from these two and they like to keep it that way, cause they love when the whole room is on the edge of their electrifying beats and fat bulky basslines.

214_March 2019 Mix

SCI-FACT is a Bristol-based record label interested in the realm of underground electronic music, unrestricted by genre. The first release comes from local producer Zobol, with a 5 track EP, Foreign Objects, consisting of deep, melodic electro with a dark edge. 

Foreign Objects is the debut 12” from British artist Jon Chmielewski under the alias Zobol. The EP title alludes to a near death experience that resulted in Chmielewski being admitted into a Panamanian hospital with sepsis due to two shards of metal (from a dental drill) being accidentally sewn into his jaw after a traumatic wisdom tooth removal. The record artwork depicts a CT scan revealing the ‘foreign objects’ in his cranium.

Given that a spotlight trend can shine on a genre at any given time, only a certain few producers can truly say they were there well before, and after, popular appeal takes place. London’s Sync 24 is an electro devotee whose imprint in the scene since the early-2000s has perpetuated the demand for electro in contemporary techno clubs, working most directly with the likes of Jensen Interceptor, Privacy, Morphology, Silicon Scally and The Exaltics.

His repertoire of sound sees his style converge the energy of a Den Hague basement rave mixed with round 808 kick drums and classic Detroit-influenced textures, with obotic grooves and flitters of cyber, sci-fi themes running solidly through his productions.

His Cultivated Electronics label, too, has been operating for more than 12 years and has released music from artists as diverse as DMX Krew, James T. Cotton and E.R.P (aka Convextion) through too Versalife, Plant43, Boris Divider and Alpha 606. With his latest solo releases for Central Processing Unit and Propaganda Moscow now added to his growing discography, Sync 24, while remaining a guardian of electro and its perimeters, continues to wield influence in defining the shape and legacy of the genre and its modern contemporary language.
