Welcome to this Atmospheres episode curated by Bålsam

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Anthony Asher-Yates approached ambient music when he moved to Colombia, being inspired by the diversity of the ecosystems that exist in this region. Known for taking his listeners deep into the tropical rainforest, Bålsam has conjured up a dream world surrounded by nature. Anthony's music is composed by field recordings he does during his walks though the mountains where he now lives with partner Nina Nativa and his daughter.

E.M.C. is delighted to present the last guest of 2021. Welcome to Sanjib!

Lyon-based (FR) artist, Sanjib always guides listeners into an authentic and richly textured world between ambient and dub-techno. Eager to share electronic music focused on emotions, he creates a universe dedicated to travel and introspection with his mixes. After several EP’s released on @lett-records, Sanjib produced his first album "From Earth to Heaven" in 2018, a smooth and poetic techno opus warmly acclaimed by the public. His works appeared on Stellar Transitions, @preceptco, @crescent-london, and, more recently, @oslated.

EMC shapes is back with a brand new mix! This time the contribution comes from Eliza!

Eliza is avid for music and record collecting. You will mostly find her passing the hours trying to find those records that break only music barriers and not the bank. If you know her you know: fun is to be taken seriously. Her music is genreless- age, style, price or popularity really doesn’t matter. If it works for her, it works. Her collection is a potpourri mostly built from music out of the late 80s, 90s and early 2000. Through sharing music online during the last few years she built herself a solid base and started to play her music out in clubs and festivals lately. She is member of the label and event series Rota Bene. Those guys always had a great impact on her musical journey and gave her support and hold from the very beginning. You can expect fun, dance and a good amount of chaos.

Inhmost is one of the monikers of S.Huxtable who wanted a representation for the more ambient and downtempo works that he creates.

Delayed aims to connect the New York underground scene with talent worldwide and present what is exciting in underground electronic music. April begins with another lovely ambient journey! Welcome to Echo & Rauschen!

Based in Potsdam, Germany, Alex is a music enthusiast and cassette collector with Estonian roots. Intrigued by tropical mysterious sounds, electronic soundscapes, and world music, Echo & Rauschen explores the realm of organic sounds in combination with deep ambient electronic vibes. Compiled between Autumn 2022 & Spring 2023, he prepared for us a musical odyssey of almost 3 hours in which you can lose and find yourself again.

Founded in December 2010, AudioCompress is an ambient music project by the hungarian artist Gabor Csirmaz. His music combines electronic sounds with acoustic instruments, noises and field recording. Getting inspired by nature and special trips all around the world, Gabor creates audio scenarios and soundscapes full of textures that unveil themselves every time you listen to his mixes. Being well renowned in the ambient scene, AudioCompress performed in festivals such as @ozora-festival as well as relesead his music on labels such as, @exiles-electronics, @free-sequence, @darkheartrecordings, @enoughrec, @attenuation-circuit, @plugandlay, and @radiozora.

EMC is honored to introduce Joachim Spieth!

Joachim is a German DJ, music producer, and label owner who emerged musically in the late nineties and has since developed a multi-faceted spectrum of sound between the poles of ambient and spherical techno. Characteristic of his work is the attention to detail and a sensitive sensorium for the creation of atmospheres, which one can hardly escape, no matter if this takes place in his studio work or his performances.

After several years of intensive collaboration with @wolfgang_voigt’ s @kompakt imprint, he founded his label, @affin, in 2007, which has been constantly developing ever since and has made a name for itself internationally. As a prolific producer, Joachim has released several albums in the past years such as Irradiance, Tides, Ousia, Terrain, and  Reshape project, which features variations of his music tracks by @alvanoto, ASC, @bvdub_music and others. Together with @markusguentner, Joachim recently started a collaborative project, releasing the Overlay album followed by Overlay Variations in which the two artists use the elements taken from Overlay to to create completely new pieces of music.

EMC is excited to introduce the last Shapes episode of 2023! Welcome to Kali!

As a selector, Kali ’s musical style fluctuates around trance infused house, high-speed techno stirred up with breaks and electro. Having started her journey as a dj at queer parties in 2013, Kali soon gained experience in organizing events, always striving to create a safe space for LGBTQI+ people in Budapest. Her mission has always been to reinforce the representation of queer people and womxn in the electronic music scene. She was part of the technosexual party collective of @omohbp. Since 2019 she’s an active member of @persephoneparty a queer feminist collaboration dedicated to showcase FLINTA artists. In the past years Kali had the chance to show her fast-forward style to the audience abroad by playing at the Lecken-OMOH-Persephone after party in Kake, Berlin, heating up the dancefloor before @jakojako_live in Munich’s @harrykleinclub, returning to Zürich’s FLINTA parties organized by GLITBAQ, and bringing her positive energy to Innsbruck’s @arche-ahoi club. This past summer she brought her hi-energy vibes at @daadgathering and the famous @ozora-festival.

Welcome to the first episode of the year of our Shapes playlist! Welcome to Flaw

Flavio aka Flaw had a constant relationship with music, leading him to numerous experiences as a musician and always gravitating towards the world of electronic music. DJ/Selector based in Bologna, Flaw is part of the Girovelle Psicotronice family, playing techno, fresh breakbeat/trance, electro and progressive sounds.

A fusion between past and contemporary, new releases and re-emerged records complement each other by always trying to tell something different, the defined idea of the sounds that he loves does not hinder a continuous and obsessed turnover of his archive. This set reflects this attitude, starting with an atmospheric and syncopated intro, then building a climax that reaches the peak and successively descends down to an introspective ground floor.

Co-founder of @itsdelayed and @never-late, Hue is a dedicated artist and selector wisely merging experimental, ambient, deep techno sounds. Here some of his words about this mix: "The original idea started as part of an extended set that I play every year at our Delayed Barn getaways. There’s always a joy in having the opportunity to play long hours with no pressure to ‘get’ somewhere in a time frame. For this mix, I recorded it at home in my apartment with a few friends on a Friday night. I tried to capture that moment where things shift into gear as the energy starts to rise and excitement builds for what is to come".

EMC is honored to welcome Primal Code!

Davide Perrone (@pianetisintetici) and Gabriele Giuggioli jumped straight into the deep techno scene with their appearance on @hypnus Record. Since then, they've rapidly established themselves through a series of sold-out records on labels such as @kalaharioystercult, @thegodsplanet, and @konstrukt-5. By lacing their unique fusion of modern electronic music with field recordings from their travels, dreams of ancient mysteries start to vibrate in the air. To them, music is the primordial code that unlocks the doors inside of us, which leading into the realms of our imagination.

EMC is thrilled to present the next Atmospheres episode! Welcome to Hypnotic Black Magic!

HBM is a Berlin and Lisbon-based artist inspired by deep and trippy techno, atmospheric ambient and ritualistic drums. She is also the creator of the event series and label Art Bei Ton, focusing on hypnotic sound and psychedelic visuals, as well as gender-balanced and fight against discrimination. Always traveling around, HBM had the chance to play at some venues like Tresor in Berlin, @vent-tokyo in Tokyo, @gare-porto in Porto, Vurt in Seoul, @klubcialo in Wroclaw, @monument-podcast Festival in Norway and many more.

EMC welcomes Joan Gila!

Joan Gila, a vinyl enthusiast, is the curator of @hoc-radio and also manages a small cassette label focused on ambient, avant-garde, and experimental music called @red-edge-label. He is part of the duo @binomi with his friend @slim-jordi.
This DJ set was recorded in Madrid at the Temple event, curated by @machines-desirantes and @javier-camunas, which takes place at @espacio-perpendicular, an intimate venue with exquisite sound. This particular set is Temple 03 featuring @hardcore-chillout, and it's an exercise in mixing and merging an older record from around the 80s with a new one, playing with them in such a way that the listener doesn’t know where they are.

EMC is honored to invite Ada Kaleh

Ada Kaleh is a musician and composer based in Bucharest, Romania and currently releasing forward thinking aesthetics on legendary labels @r-srecords Records and its ambient division @apollo-records, widely considered as the labels responsible for bringing Techno to Europe.
He's been releasing music for over 20 years under various aliases, but his current focus is on the Ada Kaleh alias, and the more recent techno persona, Supersanity. Ignoring genre boundaries, his music combines hypnotic rhythms with rich, naturally evolving sounds often inspired by literal and metaphorical trips and mystic experiences. Questioning the linear nature of time, each composition guides the listener though whirling soundscapes, DMT realms and time loops, creating an aural safe
space in which to explore. Propelled by a passion for 60's & 70's spiritual jazz, afro-beats and other psychedelic inducing textures, Ada Kaleh describes his recent musical endeavours as Quantum Techno.

EMC welcomes Nocturnal Phase

Ernesto Bellicini aka Nocturnal Phase is a sound artist and electronic music producer based in Milan. His practice ranges from the study of the surrounding sound environment in order to create sound dramaturgies; lately also using spatialized audio systems; to the production of IDM and Breakcore music that he plays in his live shows.
He released his works for Vertical Music (In collaboration with Gaia Ginevra Giorgi and Vittoria Assembri), Fango Radio Editions @user-504256706 , Opal Tapes, @thesilverywater and Soft Verse.
His works also include radio dramas that have been broadcast on radio stations such as NTS, Fango Radio and @narr-radio.
For this occasion Nocturnal Phase put together a sound collage constituted by rack instruments, samples, and field recordings collected during years.

Next guest on EMC Atmospheres is Marco Ragni

Marco Ragni is an Italian DJ and producer. His longstanding residency at Serendipity Club, as well as involvement in projects like Dancity Festival & Rumore Bianco @matteo-trenta , has allowed him to craft a distinctive style over the years that transcends genres, easily navigating ambient, downtempo, tribal, and techno, often characterized by the seamless fusion of psychedelic rhythms and hypnotic sounds.
His extensive background includes owning the record shop Mondo Muzique in Foligno, contributing significantly to the @melantonia Collective based in Berlin, and being one of the minds behind Sintesi Festival.
Since 2014, he has been one half of the @plants-army-revolver duo, and is now active as one half of the Absira project with Spanish artist @absismusic , debuting at @espacio-perpendicular this year. The mix recorded in Trevi, It's a slow crawl through daydreamy landscapes and meditative ambient, punctuated by rarefied vocal whirls and Tribal-Kraut moments.
It’s dedicated to Jonathan (JS), a dear friend who recently passed away.

Teresa Virginia Salis aka TVS is a flautist, electronic musician, composer, producer, and DJ. After a classical music education, she began working with contemporary music, electronic and improvisation, through the creation of sound environments for literary readings, soundtracks and projects involving different artistic disciplines.
TVS is a project born in 2018 to create an interaction between traditional instruments and electronic music, through performances and compositions Ambient, Dark Ambient, Experimental, Downtempo. Her music combines ambient, instrumental and sound synthesis sounds. In 2020 she began her activity as a DJ bringing her passion for Ambient and Techno music to a new level, releasing music on labels such as @secuencias_temporales , @art-bei-ton , @thegodsplanet (in collaboration with @andreacossumusic ), @oslated ,  and Mask Of The Slave.

UK based Deep & Dub Techno lover - have been in the Electronic Music scene for many years - have always been interested in many different forms and styles in the scene but it is the Dubby and warm sounds that reach out to me.

 He started up Poisonoise Music via Soundcloud to feature his own Smoke Rings series which is a weekly set of new and old Dub Techno tracks which he has in his collection. 

Also, back in May 2017 he also started up a guest mix slot on his page which is very successful and is nearing the 100th episode, so he has been very lucky to feature so many talented artists.
