Welcome to this Atmospheres episode curated by Bålsam

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Anthony Asher-Yates approached ambient music when he moved to Colombia, being inspired by the diversity of the ecosystems that exist in this region. Known for taking his listeners deep into the tropical rainforest, Bålsam has conjured up a dream world surrounded by nature. Anthony's music is composed by field recordings he does during his walks though the mountains where he now lives with partner Nina Nativa and his daughter.

EMC is thrilled to introduce the guest for this "atmospheres" episode of July: Avsluta

A real lover of experimental music and dedicated ambientist, Lucie Štěpánková aka Avsluta is an electro-acoustic composer and live performer based in London, UK. Curator of Introspective Electronics series and part of Vādin, the experimental project in collaboration with Christian Duka, Lucie became a central figure in the underground ambient music scene. For this occasion, she wove together delicate and refined atmospheric textures with the deepest meditative vibes, providing you a full sonic experience.

Inhmost is one of the monikers of S.Huxtable who wanted a representation for the more ambient and downtempo works that he creates.

Exploring deep ambient meditative vibes, the Indian-based producer Wasim Kozhikode creates auditory experiences with a palette of deep sonic elements, heavy sub frequencies, and strong emotive textures. Based in Potsdam, Germany, Alex is a music enthusiast and cassette collector with Estonian roots. Intrigued by tropical mysterious sounds, electronic soundscapes, and world music, Echo & Rauschen explores the realm of organic sounds in combination with deep ambient electronic vibes. Ready for another ambient journey? EMC presents AudioCompress!

Founded in December 2010, AudioCompress is an ambient music project by the hungarian artist Gabor Csirmaz. His music combines electronic sounds with acoustic instruments, noises and field recording. Getting inspired by nature and special trips all around the world, Gabor creates audio scenarios and soundscapes full of textures that unveil themselves every time you listen to his mixes. Being well renowned in the ambient scene, AudioCompress performed in festivals such as @ozora-festival as well as relesead his music on labels such as, @exiles-electronics, @free-sequence, @darkheartrecordings, @enoughrec, @attenuation-circuit, @plugandlay, and @radiozora.

EMC is honored to introduce Joachim Spieth!

Joachim is a German DJ, music producer, and label owner who emerged musically in the late nineties and has since developed a multi-faceted spectrum of sound between the poles of ambient and spherical techno. Characteristic of his work is the attention to detail and a sensitive sensorium for the creation of atmospheres, which one can hardly escape, no matter if this takes place in his studio work or his performances.

After several years of intensive collaboration with @wolfgang_voigt’ s @kompakt imprint, he founded his label, @affin, in 2007, which has been constantly developing ever since and has made a name for itself internationally. As a prolific producer, Joachim has released several albums in the past years such as Irradiance, Tides, Ousia, Terrain, and  Reshape project, which features variations of his music tracks by @alvanoto, ASC, @bvdub_music and others. Together with @markusguentner, Joachim recently started a collaborative project, releasing the Overlay album followed by Overlay Variations in which the two artists use the elements taken from Overlay to to create completely new pieces of music.

Co-founder of @itsdelayed and @never-late, Hue is a dedicated artist and selector wisely merging experimental, ambient, deep techno sounds. Here some of his words about this mix: "The original idea started as part of an extended set that I play every year at our Delayed Barn getaways. There’s always a joy in having the opportunity to play long hours with no pressure to ‘get’ somewhere in a time frame. For this mix, I recorded it at home in my apartment with a few friends on a Friday night. I tried to capture that moment where things shift into gear as the energy starts to rise and excitement builds for what is to come".

Davide Perrone (@pianetisintetici) and Gabriele Giuggioli jumped straight into the deep techno scene with their appearance on @hypnus Record. Since then, they've rapidly established themselves through a series of sold-out records on labels such as @kalaharioystercult, @thegodsplanet, and @konstrukt-5. By lacing their unique fusion of modern electronic music with field recordings from their travels, dreams of ancient mysteries start to vibrate in the air. To them, music is the primordial code that unlocks the doors inside of us, which leading into the realms of our imagination.

EMC welcomes Joan Gila!

Joan Gila, a vinyl enthusiast, is the curator of @hoc-radio and also manages a small cassette label focused on ambient, avant-garde, and experimental music called @red-edge-label. He is part of the duo @binomi with his friend @slim-jordi.
This DJ set was recorded in Madrid at the Temple event, curated by @machines-desirantes and @javier-camunas, which takes place at @espacio-perpendicular, an intimate venue with exquisite sound. This particular set is Temple 03 featuring @hardcore-chillout, and it's an exercise in mixing and merging an older record from around the 80s with a new one, playing with them in such a way that the listener doesn’t know where they are.

Garda is a solo ambient music project by Simas Gardauskas, based in Vilnius, Lithuania. Welcome to atmospheres #102 - Peter Van Minden (live)

Hungarian electronic music artist and composer based in Budapest, Peter Van Minden kindly shared with us the recording of the first 2 hours of his 8hours live performance during the sleeping concert Immerzum: LUCIDIA at the House Of Music Hungary in Budapest. In this very intimate context, Peter drove the audience into a music journey crafted weaving together his own music, live modular, and some productions that influenced him. Peter is also part of the Siblicity music project together with his brother, regularly performing at famous festivals such as @ozora-festival , @mo_dem festival, Deep Currents, @daadgathering , and many others.

Enrica Borsatto, aka Sandra Mason is a DJ and selector with an eclectic approach, blending ambient, avant-garde, wave, and psychedelia. Deeply immersed in musical research, her selections take shape through DJ sets and editorial projects. She spent years curating music shows at Radio Sherwood while still based in Padova, before moving to Rome, where she worked at Ultrasuoni Records for years.

She now co-hosts Horny Music for Ambient People on @radioraheem_milano alongside Marco Caizzi @pikkiomania , while her YouTube channel, Cocktail Naïf, offers a hallucinogenic dive into obscure sounds, and is one half of Fondazione, her ambient duo with author Francesco Pacifico. Regular performances at Fanfulla, Magick Bar, and other key venues keep her at the heart of Rome’s thriving underground scene.

With 20 years of DJing experience across Brussels, London, and Berlin, his versatility shines whether in super clubs or more intimate spaces. T.A.M.22 maintains a strong connection to the original practice of DJing. His ability to engage with crowds across different venues, combined with his musical openness, makes each set a distinctive experience. Simone's artistic journey is defined by a constant oscillation between intimate and contemplative soundscapes—ambient, drone, and experimental—and the creation of intricate rhythmic patterns characteristic of inspired ambient techno. As a sound designer, he translates his vision into works that range from pure timbral exploration to hypnotic rhythmic structures, crafting pieces that embody a delicate balance between emotion and technical precision. Welcome to episode #105 - Ópalo

Ópalo is the alias of Alejandro Romero Jordan, an Ecuadorian producer based in Quito. Half Peruvian and half Ecuadorian from his mother's side, he is one of the most unknown exponents on the Ecuadorian scene, also getting along with some experimental acts like Rojo or Pinxame which are some of the upcoming artists in the underground scene. The ambient and electronic experimentations of Ópalo combine jazz, downtempo beats and also samples from folk music in his last compositions. Inspired by the sound of the 90's, Ópalo digs ambient music with melodic keyboards to make the audience reach a deep state of contemplation, appearing on labels and podcast series such as @caracteresrecordlabel, @secuencias_temporales, @itsdelayed, @futurepastnosenseoftime, and many others. For this occasion, Alejandro put together a special mix with his productions only.

Born and raised in Italy's vibrant capital, Worg aka Andrea Lupo is a composer, producer, sound designer, and live performer who crafts unique sonic worlds, guiding listeners on a journey through dreamlike and spectral soundscapes. In 2018, Worg founded his record label, @lykosrecords . From this starting point, he began shaping a musical universe fueled by experimentation and sound
exploration, navigating the boundaries of experimental techno, ambient, and deep techno. His creations stand out for their fusion of hypnotic textures, persistent rhythms, and metallic dissonances that both captivate and unsettle. Worg has made his mark with releases on renowned labels such as @illegal-alien-records , @circularlimited , @lowless-music , @diffusereality , @northallsenrecords , @concreterecords , and many more as well as appeared on podcasts on prestigious platforms such as @monument-podcast , @invite-1 , @scopavik , and @onthe5thday , with his work soon to be featured on The @hypnus-memoirs , curated by @hypnus Records. Throughout his career, Worg performed in some of the world’s most iconic clubs, including Womb, Dommune in Tokyo (Japan), @vurtkr , Abyss in Shanghai, Loopy Club in Hangzhou, and Wigwam in Beijing (China), @tresorberlin , Goa Club in Rome, @mo_dem Festival , @ozora-festival , and Nada Temple .
This live was recorded at Forest Limit in Tokyo, on the 25th of Novemver 2023, during Worg's latest tour in Asia.

"This mixtape is a sonic journey through a nocturnal, dreamlike landscape. I spun a web around the track selection using my own field recordings from India that I made a year ago and also used for my latest album ‘tirtha’ released on @hyalinrecords . I wanted to build oneiric layers of sound, all based on a meditative focal point and hypnotic pulsations"

Berlin-based Iranian DJ, producer, and sound engineer, Samo Rane is the founder of @mercyTechno, an international techno label and podcast series with over 300 mix releases. Each of Samo's releases carry a strong message in support of human rights, being a platform for social and political commentary. Having witnessed severe injustices in his home country, Samo channels his artistic energy into raising awareness about human rights issues. He is particularly committed to advocating for the freedom and equality of LGBTQIA and FLINTA communities, as well as showing solidarity with refugees. His work stands as a  powerful statement for justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Samo Rane is also resident Dj by Berliner Party and Event's series @art-bei-ton since 2019, and he is also one the selected artist's from Berliner Electronic music platform @novafuture.
Here some words from Samo about his mix: "This mix is a journey through light and shadow. Soft, deep sounds flow together. sometimes peaceful, sometimes full of tension. You can hear love and anger, but also the strength that rises when love resists hate. It’s a message without words. A slow, emotional trip through the universe into its deepest and highest places. UK based Deep & Dub Techno lover - have been in the Electronic Music scene for many years - have always been interested in many different forms and styles in the scene but it is the Dubby and warm sounds that reach out to me.

 He started up Poisonoise Music via Soundcloud to feature his own Smoke Rings series which is a weekly set of new and old Dub Techno tracks which he has in his collection. 

Also, back in May 2017 he also started up a guest mix slot on his page which is very successful and is nearing the 100th episode, so he has been very lucky to feature so many talented artists.
