[As an experiment saxes were recorded with just left hand - right hand attempting to match on synth....not immediately discernible but it was fun to try....] [Flutes and other synth track played normally!]

I was struck by an article in the Guardian 10 years ago about a woman who used to hang out and work with the Rolling Stones in the 60s and the article was about adapting to old age while having nostalgia for such a potent time in her life. For this recording I had to change one word - 70 to 80. Musically it needed to be rhythmic but melancholic: something you got from major and minor seventh songs in the mid 70s as disco kicked in

Going Home

Dear friends, We have become very dependent on the internet, but it certainly needs to be renovated. Apparently anyone can create malicious sites at any time. Criminals can recruit young people for assassination missions, and you can buy dope. In addition, hackers can disrupt important functions. Criminals can also cheat other people out of money.


The Web

It’s a dangerous Thing that we have, it’s in the sky
it fills the universe with signals to us all
and we can’t ignore them, cause then we are sold

We need it in our daily life when we call our kids
and when we pay our bills - it is the only way
cause there are no coins anymore - that people accept

And if one day the Thing does’t work, the world will stand still
and every person will soon be paralysed
noone can’t buy tickets for the bus in their town

The Thing is not under control - it can be misused
there are ugly people who publish harmful sites
that is very bad for the kids in our world

The thing is however soo cool when it’s properly used
it can make contact between wonderful people around the globe
it can make folks happy when times have gone wrong
