Solid Grooves drop their latest Summer Sampler to close August as Michael Bibi and PAWSA invite a selection of the scene’s finest to deliver the label’s 2021 instalment.

An annual fixture in the calendar for many, Solid Grooves’ summer Various Artist offering welcomes a project showcasing a UK label at the forefront of the scene. Having recently returned as a family across sold out shows in London and Bristol, late August welcomes this year’s highly-anticipated drop from a wealth of SG favourites and close friends.

Offering up a combination of up-front and more minimal-leaning productions, co-founders Michael Bibi and PAWSA step out alongside residents Bassel Darwish, Blackchild (ITA), Eddy M, Ramin Rezaie and Reelow, plus 2021 guests Carloh, Detlef and Wheats, to deliver a ten track package you won’t want to sleep on.

Combining crisp, percussive house music through to flashes of immersive soundtrack territories, 'Details' reveals a body of work that goes beyond just the dancefloor, summarised by Paone and De Gregorio as follows: 'This album consists of 13 tracks that we think not only the people in the industry will enjoy, but also everyone in the music scene.'

Opening via the slow-blooming 'Bull Terrier' and 'Virus Love', the thirteen-track LP quickly takes shape and flows through a twisting journey of genres, influences and sounds, exemplified by the infectious, groove-heavy 'Wonder Land' featuring Spencer Kennedy which brings an instant splash of energy. Stripped back cuts such as 'Dance Moves' and title track 'Details' drive right into the trademark Neverdog's sound as the duo weave together precise drum patterns effortlessly, whilst 'Don't Let You Go' and 'Volca' up the tempo and edge towards the peak time, a flow fans of the pairing will be familiar with as perfectly demonstrated year in year out when playing on Amnesia's iconic terrace.

The second half delves deeper into this realm as 'Duck From Mars' reveals slick organic percussion arrangements and bubbling lead lines, whilst 'Sin Parar' and 'Patroncito' combine shuffling drums and warm, resonant tones, before arriving at 'Space Dogs' - a quintessential Neverdogs production set to become a go-to track for many throughout summer ahead.

Rounding out the package, the duo switch up the aesthetic once more as 'Analogic Minds' directly contrasts against proceedings to bring an intense and epic slice of driving sound design that fuses otherworldly synths and rich analogue tones, before arriving at 'Ready For Love' and welcoming back Spencer Kennedy to offer a pop-tinged final production that leaves a lasting impression as the track fades into the after-hours.

Founded earlier this year, elrow Limited was created as a sister label to elrow Music in order to explore a rawer, minimal sound with a focus on undiscovered talents and upcoming stars. Their fourth release channels this ethos, bringing attention to upcoming Chilean DJ and producer Nico Ferrada. Teaming up with him is established elrow resident De la Swing, who's been at the core of the label's family since debuting on it back in 2012, not to mention releasing on respected labels like Kaluki and Circus Recordings.

'Together' combines a deep bass groove with soulful chords, twinkling effects and delicate vocals. Next up, 'Fireworks' takes a darker approach with a meandering lead and shuffling percussion, laying the foundation for high pitched zaps and beeps as vocals operate throughout.
