Simon Abou Assali is a Damascene multi instrumentalist based in France.  He co-founded “MaBRaD” band in his early twenties as a composer and songwriter. Simon built the “C-Mon Studio” in Damascus in 2002, which was a meeting point for young musicians and many indie Syrian bands. In 2015, he embarked on the back of a rubber boat and fled to Greece from where he travelled on foot by land all the way to France. His music is an attempt to translate his emotions throughout this experience and throughout the biggest journey of his life. “Oriental Lord”  is a progressive track, merging sounds into a new surprising language.

SYNOPSIS:
Aishe, after losing her husband, suddenly became the sole provider for her three children. She participates in several workshops for emancipation of Muslim women and decides to pursue a career as a female plumber to ease her financial situation. WATERPROOF gives a humorous insight into the world of a plumber and her colleagues who try to stand their ground armed only with pliers and screwdrivers. They are the first femal plumbers in Jordan - one of the driest countries in the world.

Mixtapes in Egypt are referred to as "cocktails". Back in the day, Egyptians used to go to cassette shops with a list of songs and the shop used to fish out these songs and record them on a mixtape. 

Yas Queen Selectress is an Egyptian DJ based in NYC spinning North African music, from Egyptian 80's Pop to Raï and Gnawa. Mixed with a hint of modern electronic sounds, her live sets also include occasional touches of Arab Disco, House, Dub, Afrobeat and Cumbia music.
