Downtempo, slow house and slow techno. Mixed with disco appeal and 80´s attitude.

Mein heutiger Podcast kommt vom jungen Talent Guzy aus Marburg, aber auch in Berlin ist er oft anzutreffen. Das DJing hat David mit HipHop und Funk angefangen, unter dem Namen Guusbert. Musikalisch beeinflusst durch seinen Freund Jonas Saalbach hat er sich aber schnell den elektronischen Tönen zugewandt. Über die letzten Jahre hat er seinen Sound stätig verändert und angepasst, ist aber dem deepen und progressiven House doch immer treu geblieben. Aber auch die ersten Schritte als Produzent sind bereits gegangen. Zusammen mit Foreign Guest hat er an der EP „Morva“ für Underyourskin Records gearbeitet. 

Als DJ ist Guzy auch schon ganz schön rum gekommen. Neben diversen Gigs in Hamburg und Berlin sind auch so exotische Orte wie Beirut dabei. Bei Kemistrybookings aus Beirut hat er auch eine Heimat gefunden.

Wir sind uns irgendwann in der Wolke über den Weg gelaufen und haben uns gleich sofort super verstanden. Es gibt so Begegnungen wo man so hin und her schreibt und dabei das Gefühl hat man würde sich schon ewig kennen.  Sein Sound trifft ziemlich gut meinen momentanen Musikgeschmack in Richtung deepen und verspielten House. 

Vielen Dank David für diese tragische Leichtigkeit in deinem Set – passt perfekt. Und nun wünsch ich meinen Hörern viel Freude Guzys „tragical lightness“.

"As kid of the 80s I have a couple decades of experience in electronic music. No matter if playing live or compiling a mix, for me it’s all about creating an experience. Some call it storytelling, a journey. I think, this is just what DJ’ing should be about.

I don’t care about release dates or genres – often spending hours, days or even weeks for the track selection, it just must fit together. Making a mix is more like producing one, over-length track for me, always striving to create something “complete”. The result is not easy to pigeonhole since I like to move across genres. I like to build up the vibe and then releasing towards the end of a set. If you feel it, my mission is accomplished!

Electronic music is my passion and a welcome contrast to the daily office routine. Aiming to spread the music I love also led to my other baby, the @schirmchendrink collective, the one with the tasty cocktails and an incredibly hard-to-pronounce name."

As DJs we took the Flow Session format as an opportunity to reminisce about musical styles that have been inspiring to us over the last 20 years and bring them together in a 03:33:33hr mix. We always enjoy long sets for the sake of greater variety. As it has been a difficult year, lacking the chance to perform, we took ten months of studio time and produced several new tracks that we would love to introduce to you now. Mostly as yet unpublished, may they guide you to a new year, hopefully a year full of hugging and loud music. - @kuriosenaturale

KURIOSE NATURALE started their journey together at Berlin’s legendary Bachstelzen Parties in 2006. Kristian and Jonathan had each been working on varying DJ-projects from the mid 90s on, when starting to establish an approach towards their own sound. Influenced by acid and deep techno of the early days...infused by diverse music genres… innovatively trying out for the new while cherishing the past…controversial…funky… groovingly seducing the senses…sometimes even disturbing our mind…on the dancefloors of Mother Earth… or from their studio on the grounds of Holzmarkt Berlin…their journey will go on forever…
