Dear friends, we are proud to present you the 17th DHM podcast. This time, we meet up with Ongunko from Bursa, Turkey.

Ongunko was born in a small town of Bursa in 1987. In 2007, he went to Sofia for studying.

Until 2011, the lessons he listened to during the day were entering one ear, coming out the other. But at night, while listening to the leading names of electronic msic, music did not come in from one ear and exit the other.

Although he had no training in music, he discovered that he did not hear music the way everyone else did. He did not feel it the way everyone else felt it.

Believing that music has a philosophy above all, Ongunko continues to express himself by bringing together his own favourite melodies from different cultures with dans un autre universe I Opus, Slowhouse Version, Over the Clouds Series, SlowFlashBack and Enharmonica Series.

One of his biggest dreams about music is to prepare his set consisting entirely his own tracks one day. His track trials continue and you hear it when is has been done.

At 60 years old, and living in Amsterdam, ThePocketDJ played vinyl in his early days and recently picked up the art again.

He only plays for fun and when the energy is present…which turns out to be every single day. 

He loves playing at random moments at unexpected places, without gear or any pre-listening, unprepared and only in his flow. 

Under exactly those circumstances, this set was created for The Karismatik listeners.

Musik ist eine Herzenssache. So war und ist es auch heute noch. Ich kaufe und spiele keine Tracks für die Crowdsourcing oder den Club, sondern das was mich bewegt. Und genau darin sehe ich meine größte Erfüllung beim Auflegen, meine Emotionen ins Publikum zu transportieren und sie an meinen Gefühlen teilhaben zu lassen.

A life without music described in one word = sadness. Music is a matter of the heart. It was and still is today. I don't buy and play tracks for the crow or the club, but what moves me. And that's exactly where I see my greatest fulfillment when DJing, transporting my emotions to the audience and letting them share my feelings.
