We are happy to present the X compilation out today featuring tracks made by a number of techno producers during the lockdown.

The 10-track 'X Compilation' has its origins in the '10x10 Production Challenge', which Rebekah curated in 2020. It saw her set daily creative objectives for producers to work outside of their comfort zones and deliver a finished arrangement each day.

'X Compilation' is made up of music made from that process, with Rebekah contributing a track herself, in addition to cuts by the likes of unperson, Vera Grace, and Tess. Tracks cover a range from dancefloor-focused techno to more experimental electronic music.

Rebekah ‘No Escape EP’ drops on Elements on 25th November 2022

Leading the release, ‘Teletubbybebe’ combines raucous synth-work and crushing drums for a warehouse-filling opening track. Following is the title cut, ‘No Escape’, which ups the tempo and the energy levels with pounding kicks and gurgling sound effects. Marking the midway point, ‘The Way of the Warrior’ offers crunching soundscapes and twisted sonics as the track flips between half and double time. ‘Ali’s Groove’ sees trippy vocal snippets, rattling percussion, and machine-like FX combine to create a sense of urgency before ‘The Fight’ closes the EP, pushing further into pandemonium as distorted low-end and unsettling instrumentation rings throughout.

“Creating a solo EP wasn’t the easiest after a two-year break. With the uncertainty of the coronavirus, confusion of having a clear direction of where we are heading musically, and other projects vying for my attention brought me to an almost standstill. But playing shows this past year and really enjoying just sharing energy was inspiration enough to just go into the studio with that energy and create more track-based pieces. No frills here but just some bangers for DJs sets.” - Rebekah

Rebekah brings techno legend Martyn Hare to her Elements label, with remixes by Wallis and Dahryl.

Weighty drums stampede in Martyn Hare’s ‘Mark Your Territory’, the thunderous roar of a reese bass growls while a flurry of hi-hats swirls above. Wallis remixes the track with the raw energy associated with her Jell label and animated sets, introducing warped vocals and a hefty dose of trance-inducing rhythm. Martyn then returns with ‘Panzatron’, in which forbidding arpeggios and sequenced alarms create a high-flown dance floor experience meant to get lost in. Soma & Moments In Time artist Dahryl turns the heat up in his version of the track, summoning a vortex of energies through distorted kicks and a rough acid-line.
With releases on labels like Earwiggle, Planet Rhythm, and Perc Trax, Martyn Hare has been a constant in UK techno since entering the scene in the 2000s. His unfiltered sound now lands on Rebekah’s Elements imprint, one of the leading labels in the harder realms of techno, following in the footsteps of artists like unperson, Lag, Noneoftheabove and many more.

“With its Hip Hop vocal sample, it seemed like the perfect time to bring Pop Pop back for an update. I invited Alt8 to remix the track as he is really good with vocals as well as already having a stellar remix of Darkness My Old Friend from 2020’s Ghost Stories release. Ayako Mori is one of hard techno’s unsung heroes, she has been consistently producing solid tracks for years now, and the harder direction of this package seemed like a perfect fit. Dark Chambers adds a more industrial feel with his remix and as the original 2011 EP came out on his label it made sense for my long-term collaborator and mentor to also provide one.” - Rebekah

Something of a mystery, Storb may be elusive but his driving music speaks volumes. 
The industrial techno producer has released on labels like Diffuse Reality and Emetic, but now he is invited to join Birmingham's pivotal techno tastemaker Rebekah’s imprint accompanied by a remix from the esteemed artist herself, not to mention Serbian techno purveyor and live performer Scalameriya who’s recently released on THEM and Genesa Records.
Taking a haunted and brutal route from the off, 'The Donut Theory' is built on contorted synths and sewed pads that together generate a twisting and turning aural experience, followed by' Gasp’ which thunders forward using hyperdrive drums, frazzled effects, overdriven machine
sounds and caustic textures.
On the flip, Scalameriya remixes 'The Donut Theory' incorporating hammering broken beats, urgent alarm samples, industrial components and fizzing stabs. Tying it all together, Elements boss Rebekah reinterprets ‘Gasp’ by stripping things back to focus on colossal kicks and firing sirens that permeate a relentless groove to generate a pure warehouse inclined energy.

JoeFarr ‘Well Tempered EP’ drops on Elements on 24th April 2020.

JoeFarr has long been making waves with his intense and irregular techno. The mastering and mixing engineer has released on a wide range of cult underground labels including South London Analogue Material, Arts Collective, and Soma, not to mention his very own User Experience imprint.The cultured studio wizard always advances his own sounds - and techno at large - with each new outing and that is true once more here.
'Well Tempered' is a true banger, with synapse firing synths wiring about like malevolent robots as super compressed drums hammer home the rock solid groove. Overdriven drums, distortion, rave synths and abrasive textures then define 'Avvior', a thrillingly intense track from start to finish. The final original, 'Septum' bristles with rawness and direct energy with loopy kick drums and laser-like synths that hypnotise you, keeping you transfixed for five increasingly unhinged minutes of
relentless noise.
Acclaimed Frenchman Axel Picodot steps up to remix ‘Well Tempered’ and brings his unique mix of industrial and 90s rave influences to a fiery and intense remix filled with brutalist synths and unreserved breakbeat madness. With credits on Green Fetish Records and Monnom Black, mysterious German artist Buried Secrets offers a second remix that is direct and forceful, with gritty kicks and coarse claps making for an immovable techno juggernaut.
