Luciano has arranged a special series of four releases as part of the celebrations for the fifteen years anniversary of his own Cadenza Records, launching the first one to begin the festivities. Each episode is coming out in a different season of the year; the first one, with the catalogue number 118, is the chapter dedicated to the summertime and contains 5 enchanting tracks with an exquisite sound. This series is just one of the astonishing surprises that Luciano has set aside for the birthday of his beloved label.
The show begins with “The Amazing Lilou”, a crispy ariose tune with elaborated percussions and calypso-flavored synthesizers. “Hiding Hearts” is a latin prelude with pleasant guitars and restful melodies, flowing with joy and peace. “Nabusima” is another Caraibic spell, with noteworthy carefully mixed drums and elevating harmonies. “Magik Mechanics” explores complex broken beats and electronic textures, drawing a colored narration in between a fairy tale and a sci-fi movie. Finally, “Tirana del Oriente”, as disclosed by the title, is a trip into the Oriental ardent magic. A collection of five long summery compositions to accompany our hot pleasing days from the dawn till the dusk, holding our hands during a never ending daydream.

Episode XXVI: Curated By Sobek

Canadian producer Clarian has been releasing critically acclaimed music of varying genres for the better part of a decade. His new wave-influenced synth-pop band Footprintz made indie waves in 2011 with their single ‘Utopia’ followed by the dreamy album, ‘Escape Yourself’ in 2013. He then switched gears and spent the next five years working on dozens of house tracks released by labels such as Kompakt, Turbo, and Anjunadeep, while his collaborations with Guy Gerber, Felix Da Housecat, and fellow Montreal underground stalwart Tiga solidified his status as an underground mainstay. But then, fusing an entire decade of work,  he released ‘Television Days’ in 2018, a full-length album of house-influenced Stranger Things-esque 80s’ synth-pop. It's a uniquely profound piece of work that elicits guilty pleasure, indulging sounds reminiscent of a simpler time.

Suffice to say, there isn't anybody who has a sound quite like Clarian, so it is only appropriate that this mix is just as singular, a journey between melodic grooves and thoughtful decrescendos, from spacey synths to deep house vocals to percussive syncopation, it leaves us energized and craving more.

As one of  three live acts for Cityfox Regenerate 2019, we are thrilled see how his debut with experimental pop newcomer, Andrew Fox.
