🗯🗯 Did your approach on creating music change during the pandemic and did it maybe even influence your style? 🗯🗯

It changed a lot tbh. Because of the missing club experiences it shifted more towards softer sounds. On top of that there was a lot more spare time available for spending in the studio. My general taste is always shifting a bit, so i cant tell you if this has something to do with the pandemic :)

🗯🗯 Did you gain something positive from this time with Corona? 🗯🗯

I gained a lot of knowledge about myself and music production during the pandemic. The before mentioned extra spare time made it possible to dive deeper into some topics.

Craving human connection, Jonas’s creative output has struggled over the last couple of years as he found himself cut off from all that inspires him. Heartbeat is the result of the world finally opening up. Jonas explains that “I was continuously hitting the creative wall in the studio, and I couldn’t shake it off! It wasn’t until I went away for my first club show since restrictions lifted back in November that I felt the fog lift! And then I understood myself better - the more I reconnected with people, the more I reconnected with creativity and I didn’t realise how much I was missing that over last year. Once I returned, I just felt like my energy and creativity was refreshed and Heartbeat was the first thing I had written in a longtime that felt like me”. Feverish and colourful, high energy synths result in a stirring melody cementing 2022 as the year a master of his craft returns to what he does best.

Aera's remix of "Come Join The Circle" introduces a fresh and contemporary twist to Meier's timeless song, the chorus melody of which is actually from the classic African American spiritual „Wade In The Water“. Retaining the essence and message of the original composition, Aera seamlessly merges his innovative production techniques with Meier's heartfelt lyrics, creating an infectious dance floor moment.

The remix, initially released as a bootleg on Bandcamp with all proceeds donated to "Musicians Without Borders," has garnered immense support. Upon discovering the remix, Paulette reached out to Aera, initiating a fruitful collaboration that finally led to an official release of the remix.
