Qrion releases her electrifying new single ‘Proud’, taken from her upcoming debut album ‘I Hope It Lasts Forever’, which lands October 29 via Anjunadeep.

A spicy club anthem, ’Proud’ is the third single to come from Qrion’s debut album. Featuring an elated vocal hook sampled from Deniece Williams’ rendition of The Impression's single ‘I’m So Proud’ on an addictive four-to-the-floor rhythm, ‘Proud' evokes that true hand-in-the-air feeling. The track joins an acclaimed catalogue supported by the likes of Danny Howard at BBC Radio 1 and Jason Bentley at KCRW, as well as prolific producers such as TSHA, Moon Boots, Lane 8, The Aston Shuffle, 3LAU, and Gorgon City.

An album built on nostalgia and sentimentality, ‘I Hope It Lasts Forever' pays homage to Qrion’s memories childhood and her dad, and captures the feelings she felt when moving from her hometown of Sapporo to San Francisco to pursue a career in music. Speaking on the album, Qrion exclaims “I connected with my old memories - the feelings of spending time with my Dad, the time I lived with my family in Japan, and the small but important moments of my life from my life in Sapporo.”

‘I Hope It Lasts Forever' is the latest triumph in a career that’s seen Qrion release on Mad Decent, Last Night on Earth, and This Never Happened, and be named on Forbes Japan’s 30 Under 30, adding to notable support from the likes of Clash, Mixmag and The Fader. Having shared the stage with Above & Beyond, Porter Robinson, Deadmau5, and Tourist, Qrion now takes to the road with her own headline tour across North America in support of the album.

PAWSA jokingly asserts that, had he not chosen music as a career, he would have moved to Botswana to become a big cat expert at a wildlife reserve.

Embracing the world of house & techno seems to have been the right decision. This was clearly illustrated by a strong debut EP on Lost Records that reached number 6 on the Beatport Tech House charts. With further appearances on pioneering labels such as Relief and Deep Tech Records there is no doubt that PAWSA is making a far-reaching impact on the musical landscape.

The London-based cat finds himself inspired by the late nights/ early mornings spent at his favorite locations in London, Berlin and Ibiza. PAWSA highly values his own dedicated following of established producers and DJ’s who show full support of his analogue, yet contemporary sound.

PAWSA has a quixotic approach to the art of DJing, cultivated by many years of regularly playing out. He strongly believes in creating a special atmosphere to connect the listeners. The 28th Chapter sees Djuma Soundsystem team up with Westerby for our latest story in sound: the cosmic afro tech of ‘Disambigua’.

Now based in Copenhagen, Norwegian artist Djuma Soundsystem was catapulted into the public's consciousness over a decade ago with his club classic 'Les Djinns' on Get Physical Music. His organic, sample-heavy signature sound is the perfect combination with fellow Copenhagen artist Westerby’s rougher, analogue synths and techy edges.

‘Disambigua’, their much-anticipated follow up to smash hit ‘Koma Kobache’ (Get Physical), is a standout cut which is already turning heads on dancefloors across Europe with its dark groove and killer vocal hook.

Rising star Jonathan Kaspar (Objektivity, Pets Recordings) is first up on the Editions, where he takes things deep. Built around the interplay of synth lines in call and response, his rework is a pure bass monster.

Meanwhile, label regular KatrinKa marks her latest release on Chapter 24 with an Edition that places the emphasis on a trademark infectious groove, paired with a spiritual melodic motif; a perfect balance of darkness and light.

The package is rounded out by Aaaron. The in-demand producer has worked with everyone from Defected and Get Physical to (more recently) Connected and Yoshitoshi. He focuses on deep, powerful drums in a version heavy on tension.

With this latest Chapter there can be no doubt: four different flavours of ‘Disambigua’ which together add up to a clear and coherent whole.

It’s almost Christmas time and here, at elrow Music, we want to start the celebration with a big comeback to our releases ranks. Label boss and tech-house honcho De La Swing is back with a three tracker EP of two originals and one high rolling remix, by the one and only Mathias Kaden. ‘Everyday EP’ opens up with the title track, ‘Everyday (Original Mix)’, a track with a steady but soft percussion, a hip-hopish vocal line that sings about love, and a nice 90’s infused melody by the middle of the track, with an overall vibe that everyone associates with elrow and its parties. Then we have ‘Creeper (Original Mix)’, that opens with a swifter percussion and starts in full energy thanks to that exotic vocal line we hear in the back of the track. With FX coming and going, the synth treatment De La Swing uses is just mind-blowing and will make the crowd lose it in the middle of the dancefloor, making this carnivalesque track perfect for the busiest times in the dancefloor. Finally, closing the EP, we have Mathias Kaden’s remix of De La Swing’s ‘Everyday (Mathias Kaden’s Repitch Remix)’, in which the German producer twist the original track with a steadier and faster vibe, a bit harder, also distorting and playing with the vocal line and keeping the melodies, making it a more playful tune and fitter for peak times in the floor. Resuming, one huge delivery by the label boss De La Swing, that showcases his great moment, and an amazing re-interpretation by Kaden, who has perfectly understood what elrow Music’s line is all about. Opening track Cadenza explores an enigmatic African theme built on steady percussion and hazy vocals. Adding dramatism and nostalgia with whirl-winding synths, the construction reaches a floating peak point, evolving into a shimmering crescendo.

Gaivota plays with guitar clips and vocal loops to create an atmosphere of fragility and sentimental isolation. A solitary kick holds the track together and imprints structure onto the predominantly wavy melody, making it a great build up track.

Named after a North American Native tribe, Meskwaki steps things up with a stronger rhythm accompanying the wistful tribal vocals and undulating synths. Powerful percussive reverbs and low pitched drums create a seeming sense of calm, only to steer into a masterful drop, accompanied by avian chirps and trills.

Laconia features collaborations with fellow producers Cioz and Cook Strummer, as well as a special apparition by Sam’s paternal figure playing the Oud on Mirage. The tracks explore a diverse array of dispositions, from groovy up-warmers such as Mangata or Louna to more lively dancefloor aggregators such as Kamala Bani, on to the deeply polarizing, whirlwind synth dinger Guz or the more experimental self-evident Not Much To Say.

A novel detail makes an appearance on Je te vois, an acoustic electronic dance number with poetic lyrics tenderly sung in French for the first time. The artist’s romantic side also shows through the mystical elements interspersed throughout, from the spellbinding Encanto to the dreamy soundscapes of Atreyu, named after the famous German fantasy book character.

Thanks to a modest key riff and more cosmic effects, Aubade lends its meaning of “greeting in the sun” to the atmosphere, rounding off the release on an incandescent note.
