Daydream is a recollection of my sensory experiences upon moving to New York City from my hometown in San Francisco. From the new rush of energy that fueled me while walking through the crowded subways, to sharing moments of serenity with the Manhattan skyline from my Brooklyn rooftop, this track captures those illuminating moments. This track is a portrait of new experiences, new perceptions, and my metamorphosis as an artist.

Daydream (ft. Jack Forster)

While writing the track, "Mind Games," I wanted to embody the experience of over-analyzing a moment. We all do it. We create of every type of scenario imaginable. The harp lead, coupled with the vocals, is introduced at the beginning of the song to depict our initial reaction when unraveling a situation. The lyrics, "Every little symbol...every little sign," represent the flurry of succeeding thoughts we imbibe when delving deeper into said circumstance. The vocal is later re-introduced in muffled form, where the emotion remains but the language cannot be understood. As humans, we may not always find clarity in our experiences, but will be able to express our instinctual feelings. I hope to bring that message to life in this song.

"Under The Flesh" reflects the ongoing battle with ourselves everyday. We imbibe these doubts, fears, insecurities and anger which fuel our battlefield. While we may try to ignore these emotions, we simply can't because we are only human at the end of the day. The trick is is to not let feelings consume you, but rather propel you forward. "Under The Flesh" is my battle cry. Use these downward forces to push you forward and rise above what you thought you were initially afraid of. You are the only one who controls your life. Allow yourself to become the greatest version of you possible.

Losing someone is never easy, especially if you were really close with them. "Closer" is dedicated to all my loved ones who have since passed. I've never been able to deal with death well, I don't think anyone ever has. It's difficult, confusing and heart-wrenching. Knowing that there will never be another moment to share with that person is what truly sinks in for me. But in reality, the moments that you did share with that person become beautiful memories that continue the bond and last a lifetime. Love and friendship will never pass. "Closer" is my tribute to those who I've loved but lost, for they have shaped my life forever.

“Can’t Have You” is about not being able to be with that special someone. When Eileen Young sent over her vocals for the track, the lyrics she wrote instantly brought me back to my high school days when I had feelings for a girl who was in a relationship at the time. Funny enough, that same girl ended up being the long-term girlfriend I have today. Being able to paint a picture of my past and work with a powerful singer-songwriter like Eileen has made this experience incredibly fun.

"The City" represents all that I have become, and all that has made me. It is a reminder to myself of why I feel fueled to propel in music, and my life overall. I am driven to be something that my city would be proud of, and I want to be able to give back to my city as well. The City represents the struggles, the passion, the flames, the fear that many in poverty experience growing up. 

I haven't rapped in years, but when I produced this beat, I knew for sure something deep down was calling me to rap on it. Every single time I played the track.. All I kept hearing were voices, and it wouldn't stop until I put my own voice on it. A few years ago I took a hiatus from rap, and it felt like I ripped a part of my soul out. Producing brought a lot of it back again but once I laid out the vocals for this track, I felt everything come full circle.  This is to my city, and all the passion I live gained from it.

You know those times in life when you feel like you've lost control but still have control? Everything seems to be in a million pieces, but you know you'll eventually find your way. And then suddenly, we hear the distant voices that guide us and provide a sense of direction. "Spells" represents the dissonance we feel during our lifetime. The numbing and confusing feeling that's strangely paired with a sense of being and belonging. It's not about understanding our entire journey, but being able to accept the things we can't understand and do what it takes to push our journey forward.
