 J Bando is truly a one-of-a-kind talent. He is not only a rap artist, but also a beat maker who has got such a broad range of influences. He can seamlessly bridge the divide between a huge range of styles, exploring the best of modern hip-hop. His most recent release, AmenHoly, is yet another example of production and performance excellence from J Bando. On this release, J Bando collaborated with rap artist Reaper the God, who contributed with his talent as well. The two have a truly special chemistry, and I really love how their styles are different, yet complimentary, making for a unique vibe.
Come to think of it, rap music is maybe among the most difficult genres to do if you really want to nail it and do it well. After all, there is just so much going on! Artists need to excel at many levels in order to create a killer track: a good rap tune should have a nice production, a set of memorable melodies, a unique voice (unless of course it’s an instrumental track,) and lyrics that actually have some substance, if there are lyrics. It just so happens that AmenHoly is an amazing is a fantastic new single that has all of these qualities, and more.
The song closes in at slightly over 3 minutes, packing so much punch with a truly fantastic sound that’s nothing short of extraordinary. The introduction will immediately lure you in due to its smooth sound. Soon after, the song will come into its full blast, and create a more driven and energetic soundscape. This is a truly intelligent way to let the song evolve, because it is catchy, but there is also a lot of extra depth that makes the sound all the more appealing. It’s just got that punch that is so memorable and so easy to immediately resonate with. I for one was enticed to turn up the volume pretty much right away!

AmenHoly is a fantastic take on modern hip-hop, and J tried to set the bar higher, and succeeded, but spicing up the production with some unique melodic ideas.
