I wrote this song while I was really mad at a friend of mine for moving halfway across the country and not telling me until two days prior. The song sounds happier than I was when I wrote it, but I'm okay with that. It's sometimes hard to get an angry sound out of a ukulele, because it's such a cheerful instrument.

Don't Be A Stranger

My friends Zac and Wes started up a film company together and they pitched an idea for a short film they wanted to make that sparked an idea. So, I wanted to come up with a song that could possibly be played during the credits. I don't know if that film was ever made, but I finished the song, so here it is!

Invisible To You

I started writing this song as a little bit of a joke, because a friend of mine posted on facebook about a month out from Valentine's Day saying "Valentine's Day is a month away, so if you're secretly in love with me, you have a month to prepare." So, I said "I'm going to write you a song!"... and I did. I did take it more seriously as the song progressed, however, because I did want to be able to keep it and use it again. I think this goal was achieved, and I hope you enjoy it.

Valentine

I wrote this song a few years ago when I was upset at my teacher for not understanding how busy life was getting and how my two jobs were getting in the way of the extra studying they wanted me to do. The lines "working two full jobs just to buy a beer, and full time school just to get a career..." came first, and the rest of the song followed.

Hold Me Through

I wrote this song about my ukulele!
I got her as a Christmas present from my mom and she's been with me ever since: at home, away at college, long road trips, barbershop conventions, you name it. She's there with me.
I tried to name her after I got her, but no name really fit very well. At least not in my mind they didn't. So, since she has a peace sign for the sound hole, I just call her my little hippie.

My Little Hippie Ukulele Girl

I wrote this song while I was really homesick at college at 2am in a practice room. I tried to play with a little syllable emphasis in the first and second verses to try and pull the song forward a bit and keep the energy up. It is one of the longest ukulele songs I've written so far, but I enjoy it and I hope you do, too.

House Into A Home

I'll be honest. I wrote this song while I was listening to a lot of Ed Sheeran one night. I stopped on a song and played it on repeat a couple times, then I got in my car and drove to campus, ran up to a practice room, and started writing. Even though this song had an interesting start to how it was created, it means a lot to me, and I truly hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did writing it.

Falling

This is one of the first songs I wrote that I actually liked enough to keep. From here it's been a downward slope and I've been writing songs ever since. I wrote this song by taking a familiar chord progression and I just mixed up the chords. This song has meant a lot to me over the years and I hope you enjoy it!
