Guided Meditation: Courage

Compassion, as defined by psychologist Paul Gilbert, can be described as

“a basic kindness, with deep awareness of the suffering of oneself and of other living things, coupled with the wish and effort to relieve it.” 

This meditation explores the concept of compassion, and how we can apply compassion towards ourselves and others.  

Practicing compassion is just that - it is a practice. This means that we need to be continuously active in the process of learning about compassion, and to then integrate those learnings into our actions. 

Compassion is not an end goal per se, but it's a continuous exploration through which we get to know and understand ourselves better in relation to the world.

Guided Meditation: Compassion

We all have those friends that remain present in our lives, either through a subtle silence in the background or at the forefront of our life where they make their presence loud and clear. This friend of mine who has inspired me to create this meditation on friendship, has done both over the years.

The first part of this meditation will be guided, where you can sit and listen, the second part involves a task that asks for your active participation, you will need a pen and paper for this so make sure you keep it close by.

Guided Meditation: Labels

Eleonora has taught yoga full-time since 2008. She is a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals and registered as a 500-ERYT and YACEP through Yoga Alliance International. She is the founder and director of Lisbon Yoga Institute in Portugal where she also lectures in dance at the BA programme at the Superior School of Dance.
