Gentle music to help you feel as free as a bird for a moment of calm. 

My newest composition was an inspired piano improvisation using a beautiful instrument from the crow hill company called Vertical Piano which has such a lovely backstory for the instrument origins and how they made it possible for composers to be able to create with it. 

I then developed my improvisation with additional instruments, cello and ethereal swell sounds.

I searched for lovely soothing calming scenes of sunny mountains and then ordered them according to the way the song evolved.

Made entirely from stringed instruments, using the updated Crow Hill Company Glass Strings, this is one of the most vulnerable pieces I’ve put together.

It’s for moments when words fall short. Music to sit with when you feel quiet, overwhelmed, or just need space. Like the mirror it’s named after, it reflects something back - stillness, sadness, or whatever’s been waiting to surface.

I wanted each note to feel like it was disappearing into the distance. Like how a mirror creates a sense of space - not actual space, but reflected space. That illusion, that gentle stretching of reality, is what this track leans into.

New Worlds is a string-led journey through space and self. An invitation to explore the galaxies we carry within. Scored entirely with Small String Gestures by The Crow Hill Company the piece leans into the emotional nuance and textural intimacy of this fantastic library. Each gesture feels human, fragile, and alive - mirroring the inner transformation that happens when we create.

New Worlds

'Shadows' - What bones and walls remember.

Composed entirely with the new Prehistoric Strings from The Crow Hill Company.
Prehistoric Strings is a bespoke instrument forged from bones, horns, skulls, and cannibalised classical instruments and was created in collaboration with Hans Zimmer’s Bleeding Fingers Music.
This audacious sonic palette was recorded and then distilled into a new plugin for composers. It is staggeringly beautiful.

This track uses that prehistoric voice.
One instrument. One memory.
A slow blink through the shadows of the ancient.

Hush

Presently is a quiet piano improvisation born from a moment of emotional stillness. Composed on a day when I had low energies, this piece is a gentle attempt to find comfort in the now - to breathe, to notice, to be. The melody drifts like falling leaves, inviting you (and me!) to pause and settle into the present moment.

Recorded simply, with no edits, this track is a reflection of raw feeling and seasonal introspection.

Best experienced with headphones, a warm drink, and a view of autumn trees.

Presently

I wrote this piano track after a long November day, I was worn out after challenging software issues,  and took a moment to centre myself in the present moment. It had been a while since I composed for piano, and so after I paused, I looked out the window to the sky and found inspiration in the rain, filling the sky with a soft, misty haze.

My hope with this track is that it reflects the gentle waves of rain this time of year - and that it offers a moment of pause to reflect on the beauty and stillness of it. And then, once the notes have faded I hope you'll notice a sense of calm settling in.

Here's a poem I wrote to accompany it.

I sat adrift in time and place
Staring out beyond the window pane.
Fingers on keys finding new melodies 
Melodies coaxed out by the gentle rain.

The rain taps, it drops, it falls from high.
It splatters, it splashes, it gets in your eye. 

Relentless it comes, and down it stays
Filling the puddles and all waterways.

The rain taps, it drops, it whispers low.
It dances, it drizzles, it softens and flows.

The rain comes down, and down it stays,
And in its rhythm, my soul finds its way.

Thank you for listening to my music!!!  My name is Eleri and I'm a composer, originally from South Africa, living on the Isle of Man, a small island in the Irish Sea.

I love to make music that creates moments of calm and also to help unwind ahead of sleep! The piano is my go to instrument for this.

My compositions are neo-classical, and a fusion of electronic and orchestral. Conveying vast soundscapes, compositions are multi-textured and layered to create ambience and timelessness.
