The Lie

Self-love should be a dance party. I had a meltdown one day; filled with self-doubt and insecurity. So I decided to "do myself a favor" by looking at a photo of myself when I felt powerful, to remind myself of who I really am. "Some days are those days", but my grandmother taught me to look in the mirror and speak encouraging things to myself because "the more that you say it, the more you'll believe it." If we so easily believe the negatives, why can't we replace those with the positives?

Do Yourself A Favor

This song was inspired by the gradual loss of a long time friend, which opened my eyes to how often I let myself put others' comforts and needs before my own. I think it can be really hard to stand up for yourself when it involves someone you love dearly, but ultimately someone else's wins should never come at the expense of your own. "I'm not gonna lose myself, so you're losing me."
