The Side Notes:
1) Bollywood movies in the 70s almost always used Kishore Kumar or Mohammed Rafi as their playback singers, which means when the male lead randomly burst into song it was one of them. Kishore Kumar sings in Sholay. If you need more wackiness, this is the two of them (singing). Pants are lost while playing the saxophone, like 50 people are punched into a pool, all in all it's a pretty good city council meeting.
 
2) Whenever I look at that gif file up there I'm playing this in my head.

Let's bring back the monophonic rule! This was my favorite.
 
1) Use the sample above
2) Outside anything ok
3) Your beat has to be monophonic (the opposite of polyphonic, not the opposite of stereophonic). Which just means you can only have one sound at a single time. No layering.
4) This means no breakbeats (unless you're extracting single drum hits).
5) This means no chords (cause that's more than one sound at once.. right?)
6) FX are fine, unless they break rule #3 and cause sounds to overlap (so like sidechains are your friend, delays might not be as much).
 
Exception! The sample gets counted as one sound. Just cause otherwise this impossible.
Exception! If you want to throw a whole acapella over your monophonic beat, that sounds great. Do it.
 
We hashed this all out in #373, the results were awesome, I think. Anyway, thank you again.
