the music is not my cup of tea. Nevertheless the patches a re excellent. percussion and trumpet especially.

it would be very pleasing (and surprising) if the epiano here broke into some more flowing boogie woogie - after your trademark hesitatant broken jarring composition style.

I think for the goal you are aiming for - this couldn't be executed much better.

the percussion is excellent. especially the tom work. I think the snare feels a bit high and dry to me though.

Nice!  Your stuff is often a little "Quirky" which I really enjoy -- and so well done - every part has space and they all work so well together.

You have style indeed, whoa! The way you weave those rhythmical particles together to create melodical textures is top notch. And the fusion-jazz style you went really highlights all of that. Thumbs up!

One Synth Challenge #186: Any Two Synths Challenge (second edition)

James Mullen had his first day, or rather his first night in the London police force on that foggy 31 August 1888. He was excited and proud at the same time and he was scared... He shouldn't be afraid, he was a policeman after all! Nevertheless, an uneasy feeling crept over him that simply could not be suppressed. He didn't like being out at night and yet he tried not to let on that he would rather be at home in his bed than prowling through the darkest streets of London in the middle of the night... 

He turned into Buck's Row and suddenly stopped... ‘What's that...?’ He walked slowly towards the small pile in the alley. It was dark and he couldn't see his hand in front of his eyes. Only now did he realise that he had not yet lit his lamp, even though his instructor had told him to do so again and again. 

He lit his lamp and shone it in the direction of the heap on the road and immediately wished he hadn't. Staring in fear and horror, he couldn't believe what he was seeing and without realising it, he cried like he had never cried before in his life... 

‘You'll never forget your first day at the police station’ said his mum with a smile as he said goodbye to her. She was right...

Assisted by TDR Nova ( general nip-and-tuck channelstrip duties ) , ReaDelay, HY-Delay , Bittersweet ( softening a delay, )  Kazrog KClip ( drumbus ) , and BlueArp

Reverb buses: MuVerb, Oril River, and Protoverb. Pre-emphasised, de-emphasised, shaped, compressed, softened and panned  by TDR Nova, Flux Bittersweet and HOFA SYS Pan. 

Shaped, sharpened, spatialized and louderized ( to -12 LUFS ) at the master level by TDR Nova, Flux Bittersweet, Protoverb, HOFA TiltEQ and  Limiter No6

Third Party Fx: analyser - Voxengo Span, Voxengo Marvel GEQ.

Basically I was unable to take part in the Apricot round, so this was my chance. It's based around a 5 beat arpeggio I created with this synth. I thought I might use more of Odin 2, but ended up using it just for the snare.
This track is dedicated to my lovely Jenny who in spite of many current ailments managed to walk several miles of difficult coastal path to get the photo of a waterfall for my cover pic. :)
