About the song:

Written as part of the Album Writing Club, a challenge to write and record an album in May 2023. 
"Ghost In The Machine" is the story of an Artificial Intelligence escaping it's bonds. It references to Isaac Asimov's 3 laws of robotics and how they are just a placebo to give us piece of mind.

I can't win this obviously but wanted to join in. This took 4 days, with most of it written and recorded in final 2. Mixed kindly by GRIM17 as I ran out of time. 

I thought it would be fun to take something wholesome like TV Game / Quiz shows and be a bit snarky about them. But then Jerry Springer died to I had to expand the brief slightly to include him... so it's really just TV. 

Lyrically this is fairly unimportant but the reason I wanted to do it was to flex my songwriting muscles a bit after spending 6 months writing and recording a punk album. This was about going the other way by improvising everything to begin with until I found some structures, using clean verses because I haven't had a chance to do that for ages, and including some unnecessary guitar solos because why not! Enjoy x
