Daffadilly Down is a dreamy, pastoral psych-folk song about love, loss and longing. It is a taster track from my forthcoming album, due for release later this year. 

Daffadilly Down features traditional Sakha vocals in the form of birdsong and seasonal wind by Saydyko Fedorova, which was sampled and performed by Oscar South using the latest digital performance tools such as Samplr by Marcos Alonso.

Daria's new solo album Long Lost Home was launched on 23 February 2017 at Cecil Sharp House (Camden, London) with a fantastic line-up of guest musicians.

Long Lost Home is inspired by Ingushetia (Ghalghai Mokh) – the lost home of Daria's Grandmother Fatima Akhrieva. A mountainous republic in the south of Russia, it’s a land of immense beauty and harrowing tragedy, of fascinating culture and age-old traditions.

The date of the album launch – 23 February – marks the tragic anniversary of Stalin’s outrageous injustice, the deportation of the Ingush and the Chechens in 1944. Yet Long Lost Home isn’t all about tragedy – it’s a brave, exciting celebration of the unique identity, spirit, culture, history and traditions of Ingushetia.

My ideas and rough demo of a tribute to the 96 Liverpool fans who were sadly taken from us 23 years ago. This track is also in support of all the families who have been suffering with not just losing their loved ones but also the lies by a scum newspaper, politicians, and the police.
