This week, Ian, Martyn & Joe metaphorically shave their heads in an attempt to “Be Happy” while they talk about George Lucas’ debut feature film, THX-1138.

THX-1138 is set in a society where sex is illegal, mind altering medications are mandatory to ensure their ability to perform dangerous tasks, and all surroundings are white, plain and maze-like.  When factory worker THX-1138 (Robert Duvall) and his female roommate LUH-3417 (Maggie McOmie) start altering their medications and feeling emotional attachment to each other, they attract attention of the controlling entity of this dystopian 25th century world.  
Separated and imprisoned, THX sets out to rescue LUH and escape the powers that be, accompanied by the tempting and manipulative SEN-5241 (Donald Pleasance) and a hologram they encounter along the way, SRT-5752 (Don Pedro Colley).

This 1971 American Zoetrope cult classic film calls into question the corporatization and medication of a culture, which seems to have being happening concurrently in the real world.  It reminds us that we are humans and should not exist as puppets of the state in a suppressed, self-policing culture, and that we need to wake up to that on our own.

All this, and the re-introduction of our rating system, Highlepeños, on this week’s episode of 3Amoviegos.

3Amoviegos Ep #25 | THX-1138

This week on 3Amoviegos Ian, Martyn & Joe release their inner child with their awakened and matured minds and watch Disney and Pixar’s "Wall•E".

The year is 2805.  Earth has been abandoned and left to stagnate in building sized mounds of garbage after decades of mass consumerism at the hands of the megacorporation Buy ’n’ Large.

Only a single garbage collecting robot, WALL-E (Ben Burtt), remains.  Along with his pet cockroach.

After finding a sapling growing amongst the garbage, WALL-E is then surprised by a visit from a spaceship carrying EVE (Elissa Knight), a sleek and advanced probe robot who steals WALL-E’s heart.

When WALL-E gifts her the sapling, EVE stores it inside herself and goes into sleep mode, waiting her return ship.  When the ship returns to retrieve EVE, WALL-E tags along and is taken to the Axiom, an interstellar cruise ship containing a select and very overweight group of earthling descendants, still living in the grip of mass materialism hypnosis.

When a plot to destroy the sapling and thus crush any hope of the Axiom returning to earth is revealed, it’s up to WALL-E, EVE and a small band of misfit robots to save the Axiom and it’s passengers from their zombification and return to earth to return the planet to it’s once fruitful glory!

3Amoviegos Ep #27 | Wall-E

This week on 3Amoviegos Ian, Martyn & Joe fight the urge to “Sleep” under the spell of Alex Proyas’ Dark City.

This 1998 cult classic pits John Murdoch (Rufus Sewell) against a hive-minded group of men known as Strangers who are hell bent on finding the meaning of the human soul in order to save their dying alien species.
With a very noir style, the film follows John as he tries to find clues to his now erased memories and his newly discovered powers of mental “Tuning.”  And he has to do it while trying to find his wife (Jennifer Connelly), running from the no-nonesense Inspector Bumstead (William Hurt), working with the intelligently odd Dr. Schreber (Kiefer Sutherland) and trying to find his way to the known-by-all but mysteriously inaccessible Shell Beach, where he supposedly grew up.

But as we later see, things in this world aren’t at all what they seem, and the reason for John’s memory loss has everything to do with the strangers hive-minded “Tuning” ability to alter surroundings, minds and memories.  Realizing that everything around him might be a maze, a concocted prison for all to be observed and experimented on, John knows that the truth lays somewhere outside the dark, and can be found if he could only reach Shell Beach.

This wildly provocative film is what’s up on this week’s episode of 3Amoviegos.

3Amoviegos Ep #28 | Dark City

This week on 3Amoviegos, Jennifer joins us to watch the bizarre and wildly truth-filled John Dies At The End.

David and John are some sort of supernatural mediums, having partaken in a drug called “Soy Sauce” that gives them a non-linear perception of time and the ability to perceive alternate dimensions.
They proceed to get involved in a police investigation, an inter-dimensional possession net and a cult of alternate timeline beings that view them as a fulfilled prophesy to be merged with Korrok, who rules without mercy.

The real question is, does John really die at the end?  And why has Leonardo DiCaprio not yet won an Oscar?  You’ll have to check out this week’s episode to find out!

3Amoviegos Ep #29 | John Dies At The End

This week on 3Amoviegos, we go off world and eat feces covered potatoes in Ridley Scott’s The Martian.

The Martian is directed by Ridley Scott based on a screenplay by Drew Goddard that was adapted from Andy Weir's 2011 novel.
After a catastrophic Martian sandstorm, astronaut Mark Whitney (Matt Damon) finds himself marooned on Mars by his crew who, along with NASA, believes him to be dead.  Unable to contact NASA, he is forced to use his knowledge, wit and willpower to survive until the next scheduled mission three years away.
Once NASA discovers that Whatney is still alive everyone on earth, along with the remaining crew on their return journey from the red planet, band together to save the intrepid and colonizing space pirate before he starves to death.

Hear us marvel at the power of human will and feel the hope that radiated from The Martian as we concurrently celebrate the day of one of our Amoviegos birth!  All on this week’s episode of 3Amoviegos.

3Amoviegos Ep #30 | The Martian

Set in 1823 Montana, The Revenant follows Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio), a hunter with knowledge of the area and natives, as he leads a party of trappers through the wilderness of the Louisiana Purchase.  But when Glass disturbs a grizzly bear with cubs, he is badly mauled and becomes a burden on the remaining members of the party.
 
John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) volunteers to stay behind with Glass’ son to see that he’s comfortable and has a proper burial upon his death.  A misconstrued act of mercy leads to Glass’ son’s murder, and Fitzgerald flees.  Left for dead, Glass must now overcome his fatal injuries and make his way across unforgiving wilderness to take his revenge on his son’s killer.

On this brand spankin' new High-Dere, Ian and Joe talk about what has been going on in their lives since they were last seen in 2017...it's a lot.
From music videos in Tokyo to smuggler runs on Batuu; producing television, slingin' packages for Bezos and welcoming a niece and a furry friend to the world. We've had a busy 3 years.

And we've seen it be a difficult time for a lot of people, especially in Hollywood. We examine an article from the Hollywood Reporter about Depression in the industry and what major studios and companies are doing to help their biggest assets...their workforce.
How do Ian and Joe handle the pressure and depressive tendencies of the wild west that is Hollywoodland? Come find out.

THEN we get into the muck of the circus that is The Impeachment of President Donald J. Trump. Boy! What a show. The guys get into the charges brought against him and ultimately whether or not they agree with a super-eager Democratic Party in the House of Representatives. Lol.

High-Dere Ep #72 | Impeacher Teacher

On this month’s FaceLifted episode of High-Dere, Ian & Joe discuss death of the old and birth of the new; evolving lives, stories, entertainment and crimes that make up this crazy-ass world we exist in.

Apparently Ian feels that to see his stolen stuff again would be akin to THE Disciples seeing Christ again after his death...or seeing Superman return to life after HIS death.  Crazy!

Then we dive into the death of creative productivity due to technical software issues and how they completely wreak havoc on our emotions, much like the Pepsi Fire that wreaked havoc on Michael Jackson's hair. ;)

We then hear about a BLOW-UP fight that happened between Ian & Joe and learn why High-Dere is important to them & why it’s crucial to have it stick around.

THEN we look at the hypocrisy that exists between the widely praised J-Lo and Shakira headlined Super Bowl LIV halftime show and the hubbub created by the (tame by comparison) wardrobe malfunction involving Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake for Super Bowl XXXVIII.

We wind down the show by talking about some incredibly interesting DocuSeries presented by Netflix.  Most of which deal with HEAVY topics like Murder, rage, the opioid crisis and Nazis.  Almost as fun as having to be the person who tells a sibling that their childhood hero died.  Yeah......

And just as a reminder, keep your eyes open.  All people in power "Poke the Bear" in one way or another; they've all done it.  That's no reason for an entire half of the country to completely unravel just to defeat the other half of the counrty.  We're all in this together, right?

High-Dere Ep #73 | Coolidge Did It!

This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe self quarantine and record their first ever remote show from their separate studios as the COVID-19 virus slithers it’s way into the United States. Advised by the authorities to “self-quarantine,” we test out what could be a new remote process for the show during these unknown and strange times.

We question the news medias behavior, as we often do, of spreading fear among the masses as they cover this new strain of the Coronavirus and what we can do to stay aware of the bigger picture that could be playing out as we hide in our homes under our blankets. As the toilet paper and bread aisles leave us staring at empty shelves in grocery stores across the country, we do our best to understand what is unfolding right before our very eyes as the world comes to a historical halt.

Then we discuss the primary numbers and where we expect this election season to go as the tide turns against Bernie Sanders and leans in favor of whispery “Creepy Uncle Joe” Biden. We remind our listeners of the coup that was attempted against Trump, revealed through the DNC leak, and try to make sense of the sinister chaos to come. 

Lastly we breeze past the JFK assassination and laws that were changed in the aftermath of his murder and how taxpayer money is funneled through the murky and dodgy justice department.

We wish all of our listeners a safe and healthy quarantine as we continue to chase the light and expose the dark in this new reality together. We’re just two dudes in LA trying to make sense of what’s been happening and where we think things are going in this slow waking world we live in. High-Dere Ep #74 | Self-Quarantined

Today Joe and Chris discuss jumping into a podcast together during the Covid-19 quarantine and what they plan to do with this new show. They discuss their fascination of building with legos, playing open-world video games, social media positivity and Chris’ newest adventure of moving to LA from Milwaukee to chase his dreams.

After reminiscing on how these two distant cousins met, first while Joe was touring as a keyboardist for a major label Christian artist, and then again, years later while visiting family at a Wisconsin family reunion, they discuss the album they’re currently working on together and how they plan to finish it.

On this debut episode of WGTV, Joe and Chris give their thoughts on constructive criticism and the importance of outsourcing parts of the creative process (such as mixing and mastering) when producing a track. This episode is NOT brought to you by Upstart, Corona Extra or PornHub.

WGTV Ep #1 | Covid Collab

On today’s episode of We’re Going to Vegas, Joe and Chris take a trip into the world of virtual/augmented reality with questions and theories pertaining to where they think the music industry will go as technology continues to advance. They introduce their newest resource of the show, L1, a genius robot who explains simulation theory.

As they discuss the topic they miraculously invent a new idea, at least to them, of a virtual DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) in which users could create from any studio environment in the world with all of the bells and whistles. As songwriters and producers are limited by their budgets, this technology in an Oculus Rift type device would revolutionize how producers create without having to build a multi-million dollar studio or purchase hundreds of thousands of dollars of gear.

Chris shares the story of how he got his start collaborating with other artists and how his friend Frankie encouraged him to chase his craft when he was just starting out as a producer.  The most important thing for any artist is to recognize their strengths and weaknesses and to do whatever it takes to grow and inspire others throughout the process.

WGTV Ep #2 | Virtual DAW

Today on We’re Going to Vegas, Joe & Chris crack a couple of cans of O-Douls while reflecting on the quarantine and why the current situation has triggered a long overdue project build for the studio. Knowing there has never been a better time to take a step back from the outside world, they decide to spruce up the studio and build sound panels and clouds to improve the audio quality of their recordings. *Be sure to visit our blog Instagram to see photos of our build.

Joe shares an interesting assessment while visiting Home Depot and Chris drools over his obsession with the Tesla Cybertruck and how much better bang for the buck you get compared to a Ford. They share a healthy concern as to why corporate fast food restaurants are still considered “essential” open businesses while mom and pop establishments aren’t.

Then Joe shares the story of how he became more “hardcore” than Lil Wayne and how his experiences shaped his perceptions on moderation and awareness. He introduces his latest Songbird single, My Everything, while Chris forgets what day 9/11 happened. They started recording today’s episode as an audio test, but as they do, fell into an ADHD tunnel of conversation that will only help shape what this show becomes; a music producers escape!

Everyone is still in quarantine.  And while it's only halfway through, it's bringing people together and creativity is flourishing in this world of isolation.  But that's not stopping people from wanting to know whats next.  We take a look at The White House's plan for Opening Up America Again while also hearing some questionable acceptabilities from Dr. Oz.

Then Joe introduces us to Out of Shadows, a documentary that eases its audience into a way of seeing the world and the shadowy side of the entertainment industry as a whole.

Then we turn on the I Am Sam soundtrack and have some Tea with Gary Vee, before watching Joe create the song "Blind Man Who Sees" on Instagram!

This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe record live from the Wuhan wet market, I mean… Los Angeles, to deliver another action-packed episode, bringing you the latest on their quarantine lockdown. As the heavy hand of Covid-19 loosens it’s clammy grip on the world, we celebrate the new ElfTree Media Day with a company update!

Our eyes “well with the tears of our past” as we dip into the lack of continuity and suspension of disbelief while Harry Potter and friends disappear, unnoticed by muggles on Platform 9 3/4. 

We marvel at the differences between the elegant elves of Lord of the Rings and the mischievous wizard slave House Elves in the Harry Potter series and how the death of Dobby brought Ian to his emotional knees. We touch base with Val Kilmer and dip into a grab bag of topics such as how Joe got his start in music, the Jay and Silent Bob reboot, creepy Bill Gates, the strange condition of getting older and the recent deaths of Fred Willard, Little Richard and Roy Horn. *FUN FACT - Roy Horn was attacked by his tiger on Ian’s birthday.

Then, we scratch our heads because of Joe Biden’s middle name and if we think this bumbling hair sniffing politician will become the “official” DNC candidate in 2020. Joe shares an interesting conversation he has with a doctor who reveals some insight on the pandemic and possible hidden secrets behind the veil, including a possible sinister plan of high level Masons using the Bible as their guide to manipulate and control humanity. *Dun! Today on We’re Going to Vegas, we pop in with an update on our Covid-19 quarantine and the latest with Joe’s studio build. Right out of the gate, Chris reveals his lack of pop-culture knowledge by mistaking the Jurassic Park theme song for Celine Deon’s “My Heart Will Go On” as Joe tries his best to keep it together.

We talk a little about the stress of not having work and how we’ve been keeping ourselves busy at home. Chris debuts the first song he’s ever had mixed and mastered and sheds light on what types of music is currently inspiring his latest work. Joe shares a few pandemic inspired tracks he’s been working and the two get into some questions pertaining to Mr. Puffy… A.K.A., P. Diddy. A.K.A., Diddy. A.K.A. Puffy. A.K.A. Puff Daddy.

This leads us into a gauntlet of discussions about the dark web, the growing pandemic of “Karens” in the world, the death of Jack Dawson, Epstein’s murder, UFO disclosure & other potential civilizations, Area 51, Kantian Ethics (courtesy of L1) and our personal beliefs on existence.

WGTV Ep #4 | Winter Plurp

On this Older and Wiser episode of High-Dere Ian and Joe celebrate a birthday with a brew and a bowl before getting up to the same ole conversation shenanigans they’re “famous” for.

After Joe loses one entire side of a 15 minute conversation, the guys discuss age milestones and whether they feel “behind” their goals or not.  Things they’re combatting ultimately by doing things like updating the ElfTree Media site, getting Small Business Certification, putting out new music…all while surrounded with an ever changing medical, social and political climate; a perfect storm fitting for a year such as 2020.

They also talk about survival instinct, fight or flight and physical defense beliefs in a time where info analysis by members of QAnon reveals shocking truths and lies about the world around us on an almost daily basis.  This terrifying whirlwind is also combatted by self-awareness and busying ourselves with work that should hopefully bring us "All Together Now”
