Shocked by the essence of ‘macabre’, Swiss multi-instrumentalist and producer Jimi Jules refers to the first surviving animal sent into space in his upcoming EP “Ham The Monkey”. With a speed of 4,500 km/h, the four year old monkey “Ham” was the first living being fired into the atmosphere. A journey against his will.

Jules reflects the feelings and sounds felt from being trapped and out of control throughout the tracks - notably in “Grumpy Monkey” and
“Tinnitus". Continuing the development of interplay between the artist and listener whilst endeavoring to blur the worlds of sound and art, the EP features evolving imagery created by digital artists Claudia Rafael and Pascal Wiemers.

Tel-Aviv based producer Monblaire delivers a superb two track single to Street Tracks, showcasing his uplifting and melodic style.

Originally born and raised in the North of Israel, Monblaire settled on his sound whilst spending time living in London.  Inspired by the sounds of disco, funk and electronic music, the producer has gone on to release music for the Maccabi House label, Phisica and Radical Freedom, picking up support from the likes of Solomon, Gorgon City, Konstantin Sibold and more.

A brace of uplifting melodic house tracks are offered up on the ‘1992’ single release.

Tibi Dabo unveils ‘Licht’, the first of three singles taken from his forthcoming debut album ‘Vista’ on Crosstown Rebels.

Barcelona-born, Berlin-based producer and tastemaker Tibi Dabo walks the line between classic and cutting-edge sonics, journeying deep into rich textures, merging the past, present and future. With a formal background playing the drums and touring Europe and the US with his band, he also has a deep love of electronic music, which leads to a never-ending and absorbing string of experimentation across his material under the Tibi Dabo alias. 

Releasing a wealth of material on his adopted home label Crosstown Rebels over the years, including original material and remixes of Guti & Dubshape, Carl Craig & Dubfire, and the label boss himself, it makes sense that Damian Lazarus’ renowned imprint welcomes his debut album later in the year. The long-player is set to showcase some of his strongest and most creatively unrestricted material to date and offer up a statement body of work, hinted at and previewed by this superb first single ‘Licht’ - his first material back on the label since 2022’s excellent ‘Isla’ EP.

The majestic ‘Licht’ is a mellifluous mix of lithe synth work and rubbery basslines that are fluid as can be. The tightly interwoven groove bubbles zip amongst radiant energy as wispy synths break out. It’s a sublime and supple concoction that cannot fail to make you want to cut loose on the dance floor and get lost in its subtle cosmic radiance and a charming first offering from the new school tastemaker’s forthcoming LP.
