Another song by the greatest Jewish-American folk duo ever to come out of New York: Leaves that are Green from Sounds of Silence. This is all-acoustic with multi-tracked mandolin and a bass vocal (which is well out of my comfort zone). Anyway, this may be the last cover I do this week. I'm going to try and work on original pieces while I've still time. In the meantime, enjoy this cover.

OK, so here's an original of mine. Has kind of a country-rock feel. It's an OK demo for me, though I'm not entirely satisfied. The lyrics and vocal delivery leave a lot to be desired. Which disappoints me, since I put so much work into creating the song. Anyway, it's supposed to be a very dark, emotionally charged tune, which it is, but in all the wrong ways. I will re-record it at some point. But in the meantime, enjoy all the guitar work, and the harp solo that fills in for a third verse.

Here is the song I'm going to enter in the Songwriting Contest. The verses are in 7/4 time, the rest largely in 4. I do hope you all enjoy it. This is the basic track with my vocal, 12-string and Leslie-processed 6-string. The Leslie effect is courtesy of a plug-in on Logic Pro. I want to get a real one this summer. Enjoy the tune. Rainy days are always good for recording. Presented here is a cover of CSN's underrated "Daylight Again" from 1979 (well, Garfunkel, Stills and Nash really). Kind of an appropriate song for these times, what with the Donald rising to power and everything else.

An oft-underrated gem by the Kinks from their 1965 debut album, later covered by the Pretenders. Here is my own cover, which is faithful to the Kinks' version down to the tee. Double-tracked Lead and Harmony vocals, stereo-panned backing, Lead, rhythm, acoustic, bass, drums, and piano.

This is a Taj Mahal song written by Henry Thomas, faithfully recorded in the same style as Taj's version, with a harp solo added in. This is the first song to feature my vocals not recorded with a preamp. I feel this brings out the natural timbre of my voice. But once I get a new tube in it, I will probably use it again.

In honor of John Lennon's 80th birthday, I present this cover of "Look At Me", perhaps his purest and deepest ballad ever, from Plastic Ono Band. I also recorded it in empathy for those who have been displaced by this pandemic. It really takes being out of work to question who you are. Please enjoy this recording, and remember, it's gonna be...shooby doowah...alright!
