With making his solo debut on FTW Recordingz Elia Vens only reveals a small fragment of his musical diversity. On side “A”, he really pulls out all stops with the track “Jamon”. The distinctive baseline and the pumping kicks on this track will definitely light the fire for an inferno on the dance floor.
- High spirits guaranteed –

In contrast, the “flying flute edit” doesn´t come like a bull at a gate and initially appears slightly atmospheric and subtle. The deep toms and analogous drums still care for a drifty groove and colour the track in a fragile paint of house. Emotions culminate in the hypnotic flute playing right in the middle of the track which hijacks you to a journey of Elia Vens.

With his debut album „Back to Bedlam“, ELIA VENS presents the astonishing result of his musical rebirth.
No doubt, he keeps the balance between „underground techno“ and rhythmic „house music“ with a dash of haunting melodies.
The production time of one and a half years proofs his will to accurately establish a serious musical base and that he took his time to collaborate with several artists from divergent fields.
The element of surprise runs like a golden thread through all tracks and eventually leaves behind the answer to the very question for the identity of ELIA VENS.

Biography

ELIA VENS, is a music producer and DJ for electronic music focusing on the
fields of house,techno and ambient. He is a native of the Ruhr area in Germany.
His musical journey already started at the early age of eight, when he played the
drums at a school party in his home town Bochum.
At the age of 15 he performed first experiments to compose on his personal
computer and started to get increasingly into it.
He already tried his luck with the big music labels at this early stage by sending
countless demo tapes…unfortunately without any great effort.
ELIA VENS is also one of the founders of the formations Morgenklang and Motorunit.
First record releases referring to this alias are from 2002 and were published as vinyls
in most of the cases by record labels like FTW-Recordingz, liebe*detail, kaato-music,
Lebensfreude Records or Rest!music.
The young musician cut his teeth in numerous underground clubs or festivals and
events like the Love-Parade or the Juicy Beats festival in front of audiences of several
thousands. Thereby, his DJ and live sets always left a persistent mark.
Elia VENS is not an idea arising from an elusive mood but the very answer to many life
matters resulting in a massive boost of the creative element within the artists from
Dortmund.
Elia VENS productions were always supposed to occupy melodic and organic
aspects while being experimental at the same time. All of this without losing track for
the dash of groove necessary to shake some legs on the dance floor from time to
time.
Consequently, Elia VENS can be considered as the result of many adventurous years
in creativity. Based on his close collaboration with musicians and artists from a broad
array of music styles and genres Elia loves to be inspired in order to deploy his inner
creative element.
The debut single „Jamon“ was released in December 2012 at FTW-Recordingz.
In spring 2013 his debut album will appear at the same label and its going to be the
very highlight and the biggest challenge in his musical career to date.
