I had written “Hold You” during a time in my life where I dwelled so much on my past in the hopes that I could get back a feeling I once had in a past love. In a place of vulnerability, I thought I could not move forward and felt best to move back, but couldn’t. Realizing that I had tried finding qualities of one person in other people, I felt stuck and getting in my own head of how love was perceived in different people.
