THE GET DOWN RETURNS // 11.18.21

This is a two-hour set recorded on Friday July 28th for Ecstatic Dance San Jose. This set is very special to me! Perhaps my favorite set so far that I have created. This journey travels from heartbeat to heartbeat through medicine mantra, dowtempo instrumental, into lots of drums and organic tribal to climax with a lil' funk hunters remix. It lands back down into beauty and eventually the heartbeat where it started. It's eclectic. As a reflected on the set after creating it the name came to me.  Underneath it all we're just a beating heart. My suggestion is to set your intention and let yourself be moved by the heartbeats of the set and your own. Enjoy! Historically "All Hallows' Eve" marked the end of harvest and the beginning of the darker part of the year -  a liminal time, when the boundary between this world and the Otherworld thinned - a time to reflect and remember the dead. It's this vibe of reflection and otherworldiness that I've drawn on for this mix.

It's similar in structure to my other mixes with a flow that naturally fits a yoga practice - but it's less about driving to peak, and more about an ebb and flow from track to track.
