OUTGROWN

“Make Sense” was born after a conversation that left me feeling unheard and unseen. I had shared something joyful and personal, only to be met with judgment, not love. That moment reminded me that not everyone earns the right to speak into your life. Trust is built, not assumed. This song is a reflection on the power of patience, the importance of boundaries, and the truth that, with time, things do make sense. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is stay quiet, protect our peace, and let time reveal what words can’t.

An ode to the journey of production, creativity and collaboration with the programming capabilities of Live.

The Push 3 came up with the name and I thought it resonated with where this process ended up; the absence of vocals which I often circle to for a locus of music production.
. 
I also begun this project with the intention of not playing more than one chord (and that chord not being the root). So in a sense I feel like the name resonated with the absence of movement, despite all the movement that happened 😅
.

Absence

This is one of the older ideas that came to me around the Pandemic lockdown, when I eventually started the session in Live, it took on a life of its own. 
.
As always I try to get cheeky with it and in the spirit of freedom I asked some people what Freedom means to them and got to sample some of those ideas to get the vibes going.

What Freedom?

Somewhere amidst a myriad of identity crisis, deconstruction, escapism, substance abuse and anxiety attacks, the 1st draft conjured itself into existence a few months into the COVID19 lockdown. Like many artists, garnering the enthusiasm to create during this period was daunting. 
I feel like this represents one of the threads that kept me together, just breathing...

Stay and Fight
The melody came to me on one of my last trips to China when I had decided to carry my push 2, I'm glad it matured into this soul.
The beautiful and very talented MoRoots came through to co-write and sing on this one; Timothie put on some additional programming; me on all other things production; the boss man Nel mixed and Mastered.
