Right at the beginning of the summer on May 23, we hosted the second part in the series “Radiosekvens” (“Radio sequence”) at @Fotografiska in Stockholm. @elin-piel , during that night, we knew we were in for a magical trip, but we didn’t expect it to linger on for this long (no, we’re not talking about “the lower back pain”!). Here we are almost at the end of summer, still feeling a bit jet lagged, and we just wanted to pay a little homage to you, your work, your dedication and vibrance. You did an amazing live set and you also made an instant imprint with everything that is you. And it was so much fun too. Thank you, Elin.

Here’s a humble artistic presentation of Elin in the most orderly fashion.

Elin Piel is an electronic musician who, through improvisation, creates repetitive and rhythmic soundscapes, taking her audience's hands and guiding them along dreamy paths and polyrhythmic textures. At times, she rests in bright, shimmering, ambient worlds, only to lift and float away into dark, pulsating clouds of unrest in the next moment.
In 2022, the album "Satsuma Sunday" was released on the Japanese label Muzan Editions, in spring 2023 "Retina" was released on Christoffer Berg's label Rhythm Paint, and in autumn 2023 the full-length "Ingrid Linnea" was released on Mystery Circles. More music is expected to be released this year, something that we and many others are eagerly anticipating.

‘Dvahla’ is the third cassette release from Alpha Mound, a slowing down and a more drifting sound compared to last years ”Mesopic” released by Stålverk Records.
It features auditory representations of ascending/descending in and out of sleep/altered states. It in many ways tries to capture that feeling of ’in between’ (or just crossing over) where the calm lives.

Andreas Tilliander released his first album as Mokira at the very turn of the Millennium on almighty Raster Noton. 11 years later, the latest Mokira album Time Axis Manipulation was issued on Ulf Erikssons Kontra-Musik and now it’s time to pick up where we left off with ‘Chill Out’. There’s an air of happy retrospect and light solemnity surrounding the new album – enhanced by the fact that it marks Kontra-Musik’s 50th release. With ‘Chill Out’, Mokira attempts to bring back the dreamlike state from those magical late nights of his youth spent in front of MTV’s Chill Out Zone; to go back to his ambient roots using contemporary techniques and perspectives. The result? Well, imagine Lee Scratch Perry and KLF enjoying an episode of Stranger Things on a crappy vintage TV after being hard at work burying old tape recordings in Perry’s tropical garden. Imagine them sitting together totally at peace in a big, cosy sofa while a heavy haze is building up in the room, pleasantly affecting the eerie images on the screen. We always knew Kontra-Musik’s 50th release had to be something quite out of the ordinary. As expected, Mokira didn’t disappoint us one bit.

The vinyl LP is accompanied with a download code for a mixed version of the album, containing almost double the amount of tracks. The mixed version makes it easy for the Chill Out listener to just sit back and let go of reality for a while, just like Mokira did 25 years ago in front of his old TV.

Like a high-speed train propelling itself through the night, Gothenburg native Auvrel's debut EP takes you on a trip past futuristic cities, over barren, snow-covered hills. It passes stations with strange names without stopping - always moving onwards towards its unknown destination. The music has a core of techno but encompasses so much more. You might as well call it ambient with a beat, and the acid basslines are lurking in the shadows nearby. The tracks have an introspective, almost hypnotic feel to them but they might fit just as well on a dark hedonistic dancefloor as the night shifts to dawn.
