Dan Farserelli releases the ‘Runnings Thoughts EP’, his first solo outing on the Fuse London imprint. ‘Running Thoughts’ kicks things off with a sub-aquatic joy ride of deep and twisted beats, shards of static sound puncturing through to lend the track an otherworldly feel. ‘Another day’ toughens things up with a booming kick and more focused dance-floor sensibility whilst the EP’s vinyl only track ‘Lost Inside’ injects a sense of melancholia with it’s eerie pad imbuing the groove with a trippy edge

Bio:
Polish born Dj currently residing in San Francisco. Being born and raised in Eastern Europe in a family of musicians it would only take a little time for Ivana to develop a passion for electronic music. Since the early years she was already into a range of different house and techno music styles, often attending festivals in and around Poland. But her real development as an artist and a dj has started after she decided to move to San Francisco, a city of artists and countless possibilities. By starting to spin in her own basement, Ivana quickly picked up this new underground style called "deep tech" that features dark, minimal and groovy patterns with fat basslines that noone can resist. She quickly developed an ear for this style of sound and it didn't take long for her to start a serious dj career in San Francisco, playing across many underground clubs and parties. Soon after she joined Distrikt camp crew at Burning Man known for their biggest day parties at the festival. 
In 2016 Ivana has opened a party series called "EastBlock" that takes place monthly at a local club "Monarch", featuring local and international talents and on top, she has become a resident for the one of the best San Francisco's underground music labels P.U.N.C.H.I.S. Records that represents exactly the same style she brings to the dancefloor.

Frank & Aakmael - Mercy Of Means

Next up on Francis Harris’ (@cfrancisharris) exceptional imprint Scissor & Thread comes a collaboration with American Producer, DJ Aakmael (@dj-aakmael). Aakmael has built a reputation for some of the deepest, rawest house music sounds coming out of the States, releasing well-received tracks on the likes of Freerange Records, Axe On Wax, Kolour, Dogmatik and Unxpozd.

Returning to Scissor & Thread, Aakmael and label boss Harris cook up an intoxicating vibe across this 5 track EP. Each shares a track and work together on the fifth, while also remixing each other's solo cuts.

First up Aakmael’s Deep Muzik- a quintessential nod to its self-proclaimed mission statement. Skittering drums, a shuffling groove, deep keys, and chords make up this essential opener.

Frank’s (aka Francis Harris) All That Light Mix shows another side, finding pockets of space and developing the fizzing percussion to produce an equally affecting piece of dancefloor bliss.

Sharing production duties from the outset on Mercy of Means, the guys slip into an easy mid-tempo groove with plenty of depth - the rhythm rolls along and offers the perfect basis for some sublime melodic touches.

Frank’s Part Song also hones in on the subtle deep grooves. Bumping, slightly filtered and saturated drums provide the main body, with beautiful washes and keys finding their way through.

Aakmael’s remix beefs up the groove somewhat, making the snares snap harder and kick hit a little stronger, but the essence of the tracks melodic atmosphere remains perfectly in place.

Nils Noa is back on his own label with a terrific remix that once again shows off his musical maturity, while Germany’s Steffen Kirchhoff also serves up a superbly deep remix.

Noa’s always atmospheric dance style comes on both underground imprints and big major labels and earned him the honour of being one of the youngest ever artists to do an Essential Mix on Radio 1. Next to being a promoter at The Villa in Oslo where he books international talent, he himself is an ever busier DJ with a unique style in the booth.

His remix of Amazone Ensemble’s ‘Native Force’ is a brilliantly weighty one with dubbed out drums that drop with real funk. Chopped up tribal vocals get you on your toes and whirring bird calls and colourful chords all bring an outdoorsy feel that make this one perfectly timed for summer terrace parties.

Steffen Kirchhoff meanwhile has released on the likes of Cosmic Awakenings, Drossel & Casa Caos and has an evocative and tender style. His tracks contain organic and spiritual elements like shamanic drums, holy chants and field recordings that reflect the beauty of nature. Here he turns in a stunning version of Nils Noa & Mari Boine’s ‘No Duohta’ that is beautifully deep. It has spine tingling vocals that are whispered but make a real impact, while swaying mid tempo house drums roll below. Wooden hits and dreamy pads add to the mellifluous feel of this late night and intimate piece of classy house music.

These are two tasteful tracks from real masters of their art.

Will hier überhaupt keine großen Reden schwingen … 100 ist auch nicht viel anders als 099. Außerdem hatten wir ja dieses Jahr schon ein Jubiläum mit dem 3 Jahre sound(ge)cloud … das muss reichen haha. 

Trotz allem hab ich für die Nummer 100 mit Elliver eine ganz besondere Künstlerin ausgesucht. In erster Linie natürlich wegen ihres umwerfenden Soundgefühls. Ich durfte Elli dieses Jahr zweimal live hören und war beide Male schwer begeistert. 

Zum anderen habe ich Elliver aber auch wegen ihrer Art und Weise kritische Töne zu äußern ausgewählt. Sie hat mich in meiner Entscheidung meine Podcast-Reihe auf 50/50 umzustellen maßgeblich beeinflusst und das allein durch die Diskussion die sie in Gang gebracht hat. Respekt.

Rausgekommen ist bei diesem Set ein wunderbarer Sound-Misch-Teppich der bestens für jede Afterhour geeignet ist. Verspielt, warm, über den Tellerrand und besten für eine Nachbesprechung geeignet. Ganz nach Elliver´s Motto „ALLES KANN, NIX MUSS“.

Und meine Hörern wünsch ich nun genauso viel Freude mit der Nummer 100 mit Elliver wie ich sie haben … und versprochen die nächsten 100 sind schon geplant ;-)
