Formed in 2007, Tyler (lead guitar/vocals) and Mason (drums) Hawes, and Max Morganti (bass) formed a band that went through a slew of names, starting with Burnt Sun, then moving to Terraplane for a few years before finally settling on Elipsus. They began cranking out original songs as early as 2009 and were noted for their musicality and style referencing, as well as their creativity. Elipsus began playing at local venues such as The Vortex, Peabody's, The Lemon Grove, The Red Fox, The Funny Stop Comedy Club, the Taste of Hudson festival, The Getaway Pub, Musica, The Civic Theater, and anywhere else they were able to perform. Elipsus was the first place winner of the Stonestock Battle of the Bands, as well as of the Cuyahoga Falls BOTB. Soon after these victories, the band added a fourth member, Kevin Billups, who covers keyboard and rhythm guitar. Adding Kevin to the mix created a new fuller sound and allowed for unlimited possibilities in their song writing. Elipsus continues to create music that is entertaining and unique in every sense and will be a name too look out for in the future.
