Re-Setting the Field of Co-Regulation

When we start wanting to regulate, we often have no idea about the different aspects of regulation or how even to understand what is a regulatory process. We want to get out of or away from what feels crappy.

This is why most of us end up doing a grab-bag style of meditation practice. And hoping we are regulated.

So today, I am sharing about Discharging as a beginning part of the regulatory process.

When we accumulate Charge, we need a way to let it move through. Charge is often when it alerts us to dysregulation in the system. While the excess or chaotic energy is caused by stimulation in correspondence to underlying patterns discharging is not releasing those patterns. Discharge lets extra energy move out of the body so we can STAY.

Discharging helps us not need to suppress, disassociate, or armor. It is like cleaning the pond scum off the top of the water. It's not total filtration, but you can see into the water much better if you aren't wading through the top layer of scum!
