Goodbye

Lithuanian producer Simonas Činga debuts as @cportcistema with a 7-track slate of low-slung steppers, melancholic jack, and baggy breaks, born of the struggle “to say whatever comes, to speak up – to say it.” Recorded across the past two years largely in Kaunas, the songs swell and swirl with kinetic dreams from city streets in uncertain times.

Crisp rhythms cut through cold air, laced in bass, breath, and samples both vocal and cinematic. It’s music of atmosphere and anticipation, attuned to heady heights just beyond the horizon. The spirit of Činga’s heroes (Vynehall, BoC, Djrum) echoes through these mixes but ultimately their motion and emotion maps a world unto itself – elevated, liberated, forever freshly coming into focus.

Another debut record on LBF is coming from Saint Petersburg habitant — Pasha Mikheev aka Cable Toy. Former game soundtracks and ad music maker, he found himself attending dance parties more frequently in recent years, and eventually making dance music himself. After some time he started throwing parties at Tancploshadka club in Saint P, touring around Russia and quite often playing at Denis Simachev Shop & Bar, so it makes perfect sense that his first record appears on the affiliated label. First tune here is a peak-time banger with an Acidic feel featuring a vocal hook from Kirill Ivanov, frontman of a Russian indie pop band SBP4, followed by a huge percussive hypno jam on A2. B-side offers two versions of a tune made in a collaboration with Lipelis, one of the label heads, and it's up to you to decide which way are you going - deeper Italo-house journey with the first version, or ravey, breakbeat territories of the second one.

The next big production in the ever-increasing catalog of Germany’s finest, Ray Kandinski. It is correct to perceive that we can rely on this young progressive producer for consistently original music. ‘LPH065’ is simply outstanding electronic music. Kandinski fuses scientific-techno with retro Detroit house compressions before placing those sounds over thumping beats (like the instant classic ‘Wake Up’ released earlier this year). The sonic zaps, cuts, and crops evoke visions of scattered lasers shooting through the rave over oscillating techno waves - all glorious components to accompany Kandinski’s magic touch.

"Multiverse Connection" is another major hit; released by New York label Let’s Play House. The super talented owners, Jacques Renault, and Nick Mercer, must be proud of their ever-growing, devoted musical family/label, who continue to satisfy our musical appetites through the years. Let’s Play House have been churning out some of the best influential disco, house, and techno grooves since 2009 from some of our favorite artists: No Regular Play, DJ Boring, Seb Wildblood, OOFT!, Beautiful Swimmers, KRL, Tokyo Black Star just to name a few!

Their connection goes beyond a human link, the balance of two souls is expressed very clearly in this record, showing their mental attitude to draw music geometrically. This music take the listener into another level of space, a wider and limitless place in the mind of the creator.
