I Ching consists of 64 hexagrams, based on eight trigrams and their combinations, as the fundamental components of the I Ching. There are Eight trigrams that explain the basic forces of nature : nature thru each hexagram. 

I. Heaven, the Creative
II. Lake, the Joyous
III. Fire, the Clinging
IV. Thunder, the Arousing
V. Wind, the Gentle (Wood)
VI. Water, the Abysmal
VII. Mountain, Keeping Still
VIII. Earth, the Receptive

When using the I Ching for divination, a side C mix is chosen by one or other method of chance — like throwing sticks or coins or feeling a flow :
