'Something Else' delves into the more unspoken complexities that occur within relationships. It touches on common themes such as attraction
and desire, yet incorporates lyrical twists and turns to formulate a new narrative.
The track explores an unrequited love-wherein the male and female protagonists are the best of friends, although are both already spoken for, but run into trouble when the male protagonist wants something more. Drawing influence from recent duets by the likes of Daniel Caesar and Brandi and even some noughties classics, Ellen and G. Samedi set out to create a smooth, soulful rnb groove which allowed space for storytelling and the irrespective vocal prowess to shine through. The end result is a sultry, summer groove, drenched in neo-soul thump and delicious vocals.

Liquid Gold is a colourful masterpiece that captivates the listener from the moment it drops. It’s a sensual blend of Soul, R&B and Contemporary Jazz, featuring an addictive chorus, intricate vocal melodies, soaring horns and a breakdown that is unapologetically grunge. 

Lyrically, It encompasses the true meaning of self acceptance, embracing one's sexuality and working through the complexities that come with intimacy. It is a song of empowerment that advocates for individuals to heal and be able to express their deepest desires freely and proudly. Initially, I wrote it from my experience as a woman but this anthem is for everyone.
