For the past decade, Japanese/British DJ Elli Arakawa has been a permanent fixture at most of the big name parties and festivals taking place on Japanese soil. To name a few: Future Terror, Mind Games, Rainbow Disco Club, Fuji Rock and even her own creations hosted at several venues Tokyo-wide. She’s also brandished her talents across the European continent and found a growing following there. Her body of work is fully consistent with that of her fellow compatriots, the brooding and hypogeal depths that spring to mind when one thinks of the current state of techno in Japan, though like many of her peers, she has diligently moulded her own interpretation of that sound. These seductive basslines fill the air and swarm anyone who dares cross their brazen path, this is techno delivered at full tilt.
