I interviewed Brisbane "thrash pop" band DZ Deathrays for 4ZZZ in 2011 just after returning from SXSW and prior to a national tour involving a drinking competition. They've since released the Bloodstreams LP which is pretty darn good.

I got a great surprise at work today - a Tongan choir, two guitarists and a banjo player came in to record a song. I mixed this a bit but didn't really need to do much - they sounded wonderful! This is an excerpt from their 8 minute (!) song.

This is an interview I did with Chad St James, a film student who was kicked out of Queensland parliament while protesting against the government's decisions to amend civil union laws. Later, independent cameras were banned from recording parliamentary proceedings. I asked Chad about what happened that day and what the camera ban means to him as a film student. Audio of the protest was used with permission from Chad's YouTube channel.

This interview is with Stu Campbell, a producer with the Yijala Yala in the Pilbara region in Western Australia as part of the Big hART arts organisation. Yijala Yala teaches new media skills to the local Aboriginal community. A group of kids called the Love Punks recently created an iPad comic book and video game about their hometown of Roebourne, and showcased their work at a comic festival in South Korea. I got to ask Stu about his highlights working with Yijala Yala and even a few comments from the Love Punks themselves. Audio used with permission from Yijala Yala's work.

I had the pleasure of recording the Tongan group at 4EB FM again. I used different mic and musician placements than what I did last time and feel the overall sound has vastly improved.

I had the pleasure of being part of the 4ZZZ FM outside broadcast team at the Woodford Folk Festival, where we broadcast two programs live from the festival over 4ZZZ and the Community Radio Network. This is part of the hour that I hosted with fellow 4ZZZ announcer Ellen Nielsen. We interviewed Thelma Plum and Georgia Potter live on the program. It also features pre-recorded interviews I did with Greshka, the Bankrupt Billionaires and George Negus.
