The idea behind Vechornytsi in Berlin is to create a safe space for Ukrainians, refugees, and all of Berlin’s diverse community to come together for an evening of release, expression, support, and awareness. Through these efforts, we donate all proceeds to relevant efforts taking place in Ukraine, while spreading knowledge of the current state of russia’s terrorist attacks. 

Continuing our work of spreading modern Ukrainian culture, we join THF for an afternoon of music and words shared by some of the amazing Ukrainian talent currently located in Berlin.

elliephunk is an avid SoundCloud surfer, habitual playlist curator, and old-time CD collector who has an unwavering passion for music that moves the soul. The story behind casadephunk began as a marathon of house parties in 2022, sparked by a trip back to Barcelona. Bringing along friends, her brand new USB loaded with spankin’ hot house tunes, and a “fits perfectly in my carry-on” DDJ-400 mixer …her crew never made it out to Barcelona’s nightclubs. 
 
Returning to Berlin with a new-found energy, she's has been making ripples in its cultural scene — from behind the decks as elliephunk, and beyond as founder, curator, and main mamacita at casadephunk. Her signature sound is "rooted in House, fundamentally phunky" with influences from minimal, handbag, breakbeat, Afro-Latin and hardgroove subgenres, as well as RnB, soul, and jazz.
 
casadephunk (a.k.a. casa) is a Berlin-based community event series centered around the concept of "casa = house = home". casa already spotlighted 50+ POC, queer, and FLINTA artists from diverse disciplines since launching to the public February 2024.

About the mix: "For me, House music is many things: it’s human. It’s expression. A soulful means of connection — whether you’re in the booth or on the dancefloor. It’s playful. It’s emotional. A genre rooted in community, refuge and in collective resistance.
What I love about House is how inherently inclusive it feels. It’s a genre that evolves, that adapts, that warmly welcomes elements from other genres. It borrows and blends… folding in the sassy diva vocals, the cheeky breaks, the classic throwback samples, jazzy instrumentals in all these clever ways. 
House doesn’t play by the rules, and like many of us, I’ve never liked being boxed in. My playlists are sorted by vibe, not subgenre, and I’m usually hesitant to “define my sound” for fear of being labeled. But this HoO mix is a reminder of how versatile House can be — and how multi-faceted being human is. Some days we wake up feeling cute ’n’ sassy, sweet ’n’ spicy. Other days, we’re bold, spontaneous, rebellious... and sometimes even a lil’ Nasty? Either way, buckle up, babes. We’re going for a ride.”
